Cooper's rock is absolutely breath taking! I've never seen anything like it before. They have playgrounds and restrooms, although I gave 4 stars only bc the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, but I guess its to be expected. The scenic overlook is stunning and worth 5 stars, especially in mid July when everything is green and full of life.

Great views with easiest and quickest hike to cooper rock overlook area. This seems like a must visit attractions in WV especially during fall color season.

The view is absolutely breathtaking! It was a peaceful drive from the exit and another plus was having service most of the time. During warmer weather I would love to hike the area.

really beautiful view point and a very reasonable walk to get too it. the gift shop is one of the coolest ones i have been to. if you are into crystal and rock collecting, you should definitely visit this gift shop.

They even have Pavilions but you have to rent them out I believe but yes they have grills all through the park
We had a keg at a bicycle demo I did there but that was a few years ago.
They have sites with electric. I believe they were $26 or $28/night this past year.
YES you can
Yes and a paved trail going to over look. Can't get right to fence but still good views.
Navigate to the gift shop and find a parking space. You will see signs that point to it
In the campground? I believe they have a primitive camp without electric and water, but we stayed at McCollum campground. There's an electric hookup at each site, and a centrally located bathroom/shower house. They also have a sink for dishes in the back of the building. It's a pretty nice place.
I went on rock city trail recently. Its gorgeous. And theres also the Henry Clay Furnace trail. It's a lil longer than rock city, but they're both not too bad. A lot of the actual trail is made of rocks so wear good shoes, and there are some hills.
Anyone can visit from anywhere. Theres no fee to enter or park.
Not on the water. It's more of a camp and hike/bike park.
I didnt get past the tourist area. But my co workers say there are. Like 25 minutes away from 278 greenbag rd.
I wouldn't think so if you were planing on trying to dig...but you cou always call to find out
It is $21 non-electric site $29 with electric at the site.
You'll be fine that weekend and yes you can rent a site.
In the picnic area.
I don't know what your asking, but theft isn't tolerated at Cooper's Rock.
I'm pretty sure "just at the campsite" is the proper way to camp there. However, growing up here, I've been hiking through the trails and have seen plenty of campers throughout the woods. It never seemed like it wasnt allowed to camp deep on a trail, but err on the side of caution.
http://www.wvdnr.gov/2012news/12news071.shtm Looks from this article that it's in the picnic area. I'm bummed I missed looking for it on my last trip there, guess it's another reason to go back!
I would say no to both questions BUT maybe have a makeshift tent to change in.
They do not have a dump station.
Is all ready open, just go and reserve yours as soon as you can
It's just parts of the park I believe. Mainly the employee occupied stations and some of the parking. It should be totally possible to use any of the trails.
Yes you can still go hike after 3:30 p.m. it's just that the playground and tourist center is closed. But you can go anytime and hike on the mountain except after Dark or dusk
I think it depends on the time of year and day of the week (I realize this doesn't help much). If my memory serves me right, it's 8 or 10am.
The gate opens April 1st
Anytime the park is closed you just have to hike in
Is their any overnight backpacking trails in the area?
For your quickest answer, call them.
wasnt on it
I don't believe so. I was there a couple of weeks ago and we had a campfire. And I live within a couple of hours of the campground and there has been a lot of rain lately. Also it's supposed to rain most of this week
I've seen small weddings there in the past and they sectioned off a small part of the overlook rock. Always best to call to check though.
Drive up and go-to gift shop
No Just a lake in the park
I don't have a for sure answer but.. if you drive out the main road to the end their is a store and information center they can tell you exactly.
Usually June July could be later this year cause of late start on spring
The overlook , picnic area campground and most trail heads are wheelchair accessible. The road trail is probably the best and can be accessed at beginning of park and along orher pull offs on your right as you enter the park heading toward lookout area. You can see the trail on your right as you drive into the park Enjoy .The best view will be at the lookout area but the actual lookout is not wheelchair accessible but still a great view. Blessings .
I do not believe so. Nice camping area though .
The outlook has a parking lot its not far. Its right there. Have fun a d enjoy!!
Definitely allowed to hunt, has a antler size limit, not sure of the specifics, areas not to be hunted are very clearly marked, not sure where to say is best, depends on your preferences, pay attention to your surroundings, very easy place to get lost, check special regulations in dnr pamphlet
Cheat lake is about a 5-10 minute drive away and it's a big river with a few places where you can swim
