If could leave no starts I would…. I had an appointment at 9am and they made me wait outside for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes they sent the security guard to tell me I need to reschedule because they don’t take anyone 5 mins after appointments.the security guard then told me I could come back at 10:30 which I did. But the same thing happened. It’s ridiculous, they’re just lazy.

The IHSS program does not cover a 24 hr need. If you are wanting to place an IHSS referral for your brother, you will need to call 661-868-1003. If you are wanting to become an IHSS provider, you will need to go to our website Kern County Aging & Adult Services and then follow the prompts to become an IHSS provider.

A case number is a unique number assigned to all In-Home Support Services applicants and recipients. Case numbers are located on the upper righthand side of all Notices of Actions (NOA). The client receives a NOA each time there is a change in their case.

If this is in regards to IHSS case hours, the client or their authorized representative can request a hearing. On the back of the client's Notice of Action, there is a section that can be completed to request a state hearing. There is also a phone number listed for the client to call if they prefer that method. If the client cannot locate their paperwork, they can reach out to their assigned social worker. It is not until May 12, 2020. Please call our Public Authority at 661-868-0987 to find out what the required steps are in order to attend that orientation.
Duplicate W-2 forms were not accepted by the state until February 24, 2020. It takes several weeks for the request to be processed and the duplicate form mailed. It is too early for any duplicates to have been processed. You should receive the duplicate within the next couple of weeks.
There are a couple of different options. Your best bet is to call the IHSS SIP Team at 661-868-1004 so they can provide you with those options.

Your first step is to log onto the Kern County Aging & Adult Services website and on the left hand navigation, click on the "IHSS Provider Orientation" link. From there it will explain the process. If your mother has not applied for IHSS yet, you will need to call our intake line at 661-868-1003.
