They serve spoiled food often mistreat people the main dorm showers are full of black mold the middle dorm near the family dorm has black mold in the vent and some people have been there over a year waiting for housing there are very few nice people there

Im not sure what the question is but what i do know about the bakersfield homeless shelter is this. If you abide by their rules and put up with living with a bunch of other people, it is unbelievable the help they will give. They get you section eight for the rest of your life. They can get you into homeless court which takes away ALL of your fines if you have any. They give you funtiture when you get your own place they help remove any evictions or pg and e bills you may owe. They also can give you a job. The jobs they offer can lead to much better jobs if you are a hard worker. They also offer free daycare if you are working. Of course they dont want any sick people there . They are not a hospital. Elderly should go to nursing homes and mentally ill to Mary Kay Shell. There is a place for everyone

BHC does take in some men into the shelter. You will need to call and see if they have any room for more men at this time.

If you mean make a donation of toys, yes you can make a donation as long as they aren't broken or unusable.
I serve the community at 7 a.m. if you live there it is 6 a.m. and 5 a.m.
They should if they have room or refer you to someone who can help you.
This place is mainly for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse, but they offer 2 meals a day for anyone hungry. They only allow men to stay If they are spouses of the women staying there, or if they are biological parents. You cannot shower unless you are processed in. Great place to volunteer, and they offer help for people, just make sure you're not on drugs or bring in alcohol. They'll give you a job to do to keep the place ship shape, and they offer jobs to anyone who can pass a drug test and can work hard hours litterpicking on the highway. Hope this was helpful.
They have guidelines on staying there but don't if you need anything. I believe not at first but a person continues to stay they are required to get a social and discounted ID.
I am not sure if I (Bakersfield Homeless Center, opps) provide a place. I am a client of housing and urban development to know and be aware that there is senior apartments in Housing and Urban Development. Just contact Kern 211 or Bakersfield Homeless Center to help what old lady needs a place. Suggest you to contact INPENDENT LIVING CENTER of KERN COUNTY that is strongly supported seniors.
You have to call and ask if they have space available And not sure about the new rules but usually u bring ur personal things or some times they do give u some of the stuff u need
Community breakfast and dinner. There is none much I mean lunch for public. Breakfast at 7 am, sometimes 6 30 on Mondays to Fridays, and dinner at 4 30 pm on Mondays to Fridays. Weekends breakfast at 6 or 7. Dinner at 4 pm. No lunch for all weeks and weekends
I have a cousin that is staying there and they have been very helpful in helping her become independent

If you have clothes, small household items or other things you want to bring in, there is a donation center at the facility. They are open Monday-Friday during normal business hours. (9-5) If you need donation items picked up or you want to volunteer your time, you can call and make arrangements for that also.

I was in the homeless shelter here for bit. They really helped me and my friend out a lot you just have to want to be helped in order to help yourself. I got a job then I got a truck and last I but the best I got an apartment and we've been on our own now going on 5 years. I hope that helps. Good luck.
Like the others I believe they close down by 4:30 or 5pm. However, the best advice I can give you is to call them and ask them. Get the word from the horse's mouth as its been said.
