After failure to pick up on August 5, we brought the trash can back to our house (1/4 mile down private road). Called customer service, was told they were "so sorry" and would put in request for pickup that day. Didn't happen. Over the next 7 days made twice daily calls for pickup, told by customer service...was promised contact for pickup....didn't happen. On the fourth day I requested a contact with a supervisor....they didn't call back (no surprise). Was contact daily by customer to verify trash pickup, but nothing changed. Was promised they would check into the driver schedule, and get it resolved THAT DAY. No surprise that now it's two weeks later, and no action taken. it's a shame workers have no pride in their work. If you knock a trash can over, it takes 15 seconds to get out of your trash truck to set it back up and then pick it up. I'm so disappointed in service, and lack of action after speaking to customer service over 8 times.

Honestly, the worst trash service I've had yet. I've been waiting for a month to receive a trash bin and have yet to get one. I followed up 3 times and the customer service rep on the phone at first claimed it was delayed and on it's way, 2nd time I called they apologized and said it should've been delivered, and 3rd time they said the work order was closed because the trash bin was delivered and it wasn't. Now I have to call in a 4th time because it has been over week, still no trash can. Funny part is the property taxes I pay include trash service, but have yet to actually receive service. Will I receive a refund of any sort? No. Can I do anything about it. Doesn't seem like I can because the incompetence appears to be systemic. All in all, it's that's not surprising after reading other Google reviews that this service is trash.

We pay for weekly removal of garbage and recycles. Noticed they moved to republic services, what a joke. They lie, taking advantage of small biz owners. Now home owners. Hope Anna gets fired, probably got a kickback! Reduce my property taxes for non removal. Calling news channel 8 to investigate why Anna picked republic service... the worst history!

UPDATE: FIVE weeks. It has now been FIVE weeks with no recycle service. A truck came and picked up ONE can from the corner house and drove off. The entire street has has their recycle bins by the road for FIVE weeks with multiple requests for service. I can provide numerous reference numbers if you like since contacting the actual company means jack. "As quickly as possible" means absolutely nothing to these people. How about you just deliver every house another garbage can, take away the recycling can, and we'll just throw everything away, like we already do anyway. At least then it'll be picked up every week and not sitting by the road. This is getting to the beyond pathetic point. You enact this "emergency" procedure to pick up recycle every other week but still miss a week. So even with a service request, which obviously gets ignored, my street will go a month without recycling being picked up. Might as well issue another state of emergency letter stating the move to a "once a month" pick up. Imagine paying for a service without receiving that service. Think I'll call my lawn care guy and tell him I'll still pay him but I'll cut the grass myself.

Thank you for your interest. Polk County offers a Recyclable Materials Collection Program to residential customers living in unincorporated Polk for curbside collection. We no longer offer receptacles for drop off and don’t accept materials at Polk facilities. The county doesn’t operate a recycling facility. We contract with a third party who works toward getting those materials sorted and processed and to a manufacturer. Our country has had 9,800 different recycling programs. It is very possible your former program had a specific goal for their program based on the resources available. Polk’s goal is to collect materials with the greatest potential to be used in the making of new packaging or product. The materials on our list have the sustainability, availability and are valuable to manufacturers. That’s important because without manufacturers or companies purchasing/using these materials, they will not be recycled. Still have questions, please call 863-284-4319.
They have horrible service as. I've had the same problem as you ,Humberto Garcia.
They don’t pick up clear plastic water bottles, or anything that’s clear plastic which is totally ridiculous. They don’t recycle colored bottles either regardless if it’s marked recyclable.
Grady Judd had nothing to do with this . They just want to do a dumpy job. Sorry if that was punny.
Our can still hasn't been replaced but oh well thats our tax money hard at work ?(NOT)
Debra, thank you for reaching out. You can find a list of recyclable materials at https://www.polk-county.net/waste-and-recycling/recyclable-materials. Only those materials listed are accepted in the program.

There was pick ups start at 6 a.m. anything out after that is late and won't get picked up. Who is your service provider?

3rd call to get one today, bad when I come from Michigan to visit and a Florida resident can't have recycling available so it goes in the garbage. Think of the environment. No to worry I took my recycling to the neighbor's.
