Despite being situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood, they ring their bells at 7:50am every single morning. When asked to consider starting past 9am, the church’s response was “we have every right to ring the bells whenever we feel like it.” Apparently grad hospital residents just have to adjust their schedules to make way for more evangelical nonsense.

Don't live within a block of this church unless you are ok with constant noise and lack of awareness and consideration for their neighbors. There is a courtyard area across from residences that is filled every day, with people and children screaming/singing/partying/selling things where they have loudspeakers out. The youth groups will have kids running around and screaming until midnight many evenings. It would be one thing if it was just some days or if it was part of the day, but that loudspeaker and people screaming is incessant.

5 stars for the St. Charles choir. The current administrator is open to many questions as to how our church is managed. As a member for 70 years, I have never encountered a pastor who seemingly distances himself from the people. Fr. Esteban is away more often than onsite. Many changes have been made to the exterior and interior of the church (removal of outside iron grating, carpeting in the alter area, removal of interior doors, removal of bulletin boards, seating for the priest directly in front of the sacrament, as you bow in honor of the sacrament you seemingly bow to him). Where are the items that have been removed? Don’t get me wrong, changes will happen and sometimes needed. Some items add to the historical significance of the church. We have fewer members than ever before. Why changes which are not related to the maintenance and upkeep of the building. What is the Archdiocese’s responsibility for oversight of Phila. Parishes? I am concerned that when Fr. Esteban leaves, St. Charles may find itself in an unrepairable situation. M.Friend-Davis

There was no fire that I can remember where the skating rink (2001 Christian St) sits. Before the multi purpose building that includes the skating rink, was a old convent that housed some classrooms until demolition
Dont know. I was in Philadelphia for a visit and just went to mass there
