Why did the Co spend all the tax payers $$$$ to buy recycle cans if they won't pick up what I've recycled for years? Makes No Sense!!!

It appears that no one answers these questions.

I was shocked when they sent out a brochure that said not to recycle clear or colored plastic. What’s the point of trying to recycle if these are not included? It takes me a month to fill my buggy. All that extra plastic is going into landfill I guess. What a shame.

Based on public input from community forums, these roll carts were requested over the open bins we previously used. That is why we have the roll carts. The reason the county does not accept the same materials they used to is because recycling is changing and has been for years. Materials are made differently, cost of raw materials are at lows, and markets are flooded with some post-consumer materials. If there isn’t a manufacturer or company to purchase material for reuse the materials aren’t recycled, regardless of what is put in the recycling roll cart.
