This beach boasts some of the best sand in the peninsula with easy access from the road with street parking as well. There's a board walk that follows the coast along the golf course and offers great views of the rocks and tide pools. Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash. Bring your backpacks and flip flops because bicycles are not allowed if you plan to haul things. Come for a walk, or a swim if you don't mind the water temperature!

Great views, not too crowded. Picnic tables every so often are a great feature. Boardwalk trail has some areas that need repair. Trash receptacles conveniently located along the road & well maintained.

Gorgeous beaches that are covered in shells and kelp. Incredible tide pools. Terrible parking when it gets loaded with tourists, so bring a pointy stick to defend your claim. This whole stretch of shoreline is prone to sneaker waves & strong undertow and rip currents. NEVER NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON THE OCEAN. Every year, more than a few people get injured or die because they were caught off guard by a sudden large wave, even when the ocean looks calm. That selfie standing on the rocks isn't worth it.

It's got some fine white sand. My favorite part of the beach is by far the tide pools on the north side. In low tide, you can see all of the hermit crabs, starfish, mussels, and tons of other plant and animal life. I was there from around 2:30-3:30pm. Aside from the kelp and occasional jellyfish debris (noticable enough to avoid), I'd 100% go back.

Go about 1-2 hours before low tide and you can stay until about 1-2 hours before high tide.
Asilomar has no shower. However. Veterans Memorial Park just up the way off of 68 in Skyline Forest you can use their showers for a $2 donation :-)
Yes, unless you wear a wet suit, surfing.
Theres this wonderful spot across from a small orange house that I go to everytime. No ones usually there and it a secluded little place surround by rock
Divyo, these messages are public and are more for finding out general information, not reservations
No parking from midnight to 5am if they catch you parked they will fine you
Yes I've found starfish on the rocks but you really shouldn't take them as they are an important part of the ecosystem.
Yes
Tidepools at night can be extremely dangerous due to low visibility, surf conditions, and slippery rocks.
Picnics sans alcohol and/or open fire are allowed. There are no picnic tables at this beach. Remember to pack out your trash!
Asilomar State Beach has 2 beach wheelchairs that can be reserved through the conference grounds front desk. There is no cost, but reservations are recommended. The chairs are designed for the sandy portion of the beach not the uneven coastal trail or the paved roads through the conference grounds - too harsh for the special balloon tires on this equipment.
Look for beaches with several large rocks. Look at the tide forecast. Try to go at the lowest tide. https://www.tide-forecast.com/locations/Monterey-Monterey-Harbor-California/tides/latest
No open fires at Asilomar State Beach. Hibachis or portable grills are ok. Remember to pack out your trash and coals to help keep the beach safe and clean for all who use it.
All the beaches around here you have to be off of by midnight. They open back up at 5am but the cops patrol the beach at night.
No.camping.
Yes, go during low tide. You'll have more fun finding seashells, but there is still sea glass and semi-precious stones out there. Wear a jacket it's chilly.
No.
There is a cafe in the main lodge, as well as cafeteria style meal hall that serves breakfast and dinner.
There are wooden walkways through the dunes for part of the beach, and a beach wheelchair is available from the rangers.
