Instead of a Midsize car, we got a Fullsize car, so that's definitely a plus. We could've chosen even bigger models (pickups) which we opted not to do. The car we chose was itself pretty nice (Toyota Camry 2021), although we did have some trouble getting Android Auto to work, because the car's settings were messed up. Got it working on the third day of our trip, and loved the feature. However, the car was 100% not cleaned to covid standards. I am certain of that, because we found some money in it (just pennies, but still) which I am sure the cleaners would have (read: should have!) taken out of the car. Especially because you are assured that the car is sanitized before picking it up, I find that very disappointing. Additionally, the lady at the counter was a little rude when I asked about signing up additional drivers as she was handing me the contract. She rudely said that I should've told her I wanted extra drivers right at the start. I, as someone who has never rented a car before, had been expecting her to ask me about that when she needed the information if I wanted any additional drivers or not. When I asked about being an additional driver to my dad, who was the renter of the car, I was told that would be 15$/day extra. My mom would be included at no extra cost. That confused me, because I had specifically asked weeks (!) before beginning the trip about being an additional driver at no extra charge (as it had been outlined on their website that spouse and children would be included for free). The lady refused to listen to me at first, and only when I showed her their own website, she realized that I was indeed correct. Her supervisor, who had already been called, didn't go for it anyway and never let me explain to her what was going on. She refused to let me be an additional driver for free (just like I had been assured I would be) and only through intense discussions did I get what I had been promised and what they were outlining on their website. In the future, I will definitely be trying a different company to compare them to Alamo San Francisco.

Great car selection. Clean and drove for three weeks without any issues. Super easy pick up and return. Picked up during rush hour and still took less than 10 minutes. Dropped off at 5:30am and Marjain (spelling is off. I took a picture of her badge to include her in this review but it’s too blurry to read!) handled in less than five minutes. Emailed my receipt and gave me directions to get into airport in AirTran. Thanks for making renting and pick up so quick and efficient!

After many years of renting at the top rent a car brand, I began to notice post-covid their prices have really risen dramatically. So on a trip last year I tried Alamo for the first time. Now, three rental later I can say I am glad I tried them out. All the vehicles have been clean and in good shape with reasonable mileage on them. Signing up for their skip-the-counter program made grabbing a vehicle and going a snap. I remain pleased and appear to fast becoming a loyal customer.

Everything from start to finish was great. Clear instructions and beautiful section of cars. All kept so well. No hassle in and out quickly. Instructions were super clear when returning the car and all the staff was super friendly and helpful. 10/10 guys! Keep doing your thing.

Type Alamo car rental SFO in Maps or Google
You should go to the Alamo website for that info based on dates needed for prices.
Me and my son have had the pleasure to have rented a Ford Expedition from Alamo, and cannot recommend them enough, they were very professional and friendly, and the vehicle was absolutely amazing 😎
That is charged automatically
Yes you will choose and pick up your vehicle directly.
Always 24 hours a day
Follow the rental car return signs
you can ride airtrain to get there. all major rental car company uses the same building.
They were pretty cool about my pick up time. I actually got in 1hr earlier and was able to get my reserved car, self help kiosks are also available. Not matter how long the line looks don't despair it goes quickly
Credit as needed
+1 air bus
Taking the airport train was 18 Dollars on the bill r/t
An SUV or van would be best
Yes I think so, in Vegas i got my car at 3 AM so in Sfo i presume
Yes, they have
Several turns. Decent signage for 101
Priceline.com is also a good option
Yes, there is. Depends on which car you will be renting, and is known as intercity fee. The intercity fee varies by rental location, return location, and time of year.
No extra cost
Not sure, i would call Alamo and ask if i were you
Request a quote for same rental duration with different return location ( like pickup SF/return SF and pickup SF and return LV). You will know additional charge if any from these quotes. Most likely there would be an additional fee.
In my experience, you would definitely go though tolls, you can go to the cash payment and wait longer, or go though the automatic/fast toll but pay it through the Alamo billing. I paid around 7 dollars extra. But with the waiting time saved, I think it is worth it
