Its 2022 but the DMV live in 1995, everything is in paper, and nothing is integrated, I wase shocked by how much they are undeveloped!! Hey DMV, in case you haven't heard, there is something called Internet ! You can use it, it's very helpful..

We had an appointment to change licenses and vehicle registration. Wait time was very short. Got everything done in one appointment. People were very friendly and helpful.

Walked in on a Tuesday morning (was there by 7:45 am). As we moved in from out-of-state, had to get a new license and title + register our cars. All done by 9:15 am. Impressed! It helps to go fully prepared, with all the forms filled out with supporting original documents.

Rude costumer service ever!! The system for Road skill test is terrible. I went to DMV to at 8.00 am and it is a lot of people, but the staff very slow. Even if they are a lot of workers. They have only 1 person who take the road skill. I …

I am 72 and need to renew my license. Do I have to take any tests or can I jus renew online?
Yes, its very easy, you can either order a copy of it on the website dmvnow.com or go to an office (by appointment only right now) and present your ID and a form and they will print another one so long as there are no holds or leins on it.
Since it is expired for a while: You might need all the documents as if you are applying for the first time
You must go to the DMV website and schedule an appointment time. If you are not sure what you need then schedule a "multiple needs" appointment. The appointment system seems like it will be in place for the foreseeable future.
Go to the DMV where you had your appointment, they will either reschedule you or see.you that day if there is an opening. Lots of people either miss or are late to there appointment so you might get lucky. The covid thing has really screwed things up at the dmv and so has the weather.
I believe theres a drop box for tags
If your license expires before July 31,2020 it has automatically been extended until October 31 2020 in the system. The governor pushed those back two months. If your doing a regular driver's license you just need your license. However, if you are "limited duration" meaning you are not a citizen and are here through immigration, you will need all your updated immigration paperwork, 2 proofs of address, your license, and proof of SSN if you have that. You can try to renew online on the website www.dmvnow.com (create an account). if you are NOT limited duration. If you are, you have to go into the office. Make an appointment on the website. If you want a REAL ID, you will need your license, your SSN, 2 proofs of address and legal presence. That has to be done in office. Make an appointment.
Seriously, I have called over 5 times and they default to a lame excuse over and over "when we can safely test" idk, how about post cameras in cars? Sarah, they dont have a planned date, and I promise you wont get an answer you want from them
No, you cannot do that "online". If its a new vehicle you just bought, you have two options. You can either mail in the paperwork to the Richmond HQ office or go into a DMV and get the title transferred over. Please see the website for "Titling a vehicle in Virginia". https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#titling.asp
You need a VSA 17A. NOT the 14. Please see "Titling a vehicle in Virginia" on the website. https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#titling.asp
Yes
I am not sure what is going on with this. This is contact info - https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/general/#utilities/contact.asp If you have facebook you can also contact them on there. DMV Virginia on facebook and send them a private message, they usually respond on there within an hour. Mostly likely only during business hours though. I am not sure what the times are that they respond on facebook.
Need eye test at dmv. Just regular license without the air travel Id u don't need anything other than a new application. If upgrading to the travel id go on line and find documents that u need.
The DMV is open for walk-ins on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays but be advised the lines are quite long I got there an hr before they opened (8am) on a Tuesday and Saturday, both times the lines was already going around the building.
What was the address you were sent?
Check the site. I assume you have to make an appointment (sometimes you can get same day or availability is pretty good) online. For death certificates you may even be able to request the copy online but otherwise you make the appointment and it's fairly quick
Schedule any available appointment then keep looking as soon someone cancels, you take that and cancel yours.
There are still no walk-ins so unfortunately u still will need to make an appt.
The website tells you what requires an appointment or what can be processed online.
Nope. They check for your appointment when you enter. Check frequently, a few of them open up for the next day or two when people cancel it
You need to schedule an appointment online to go to the dmv. Take your MD license, proof of address, and additional proof of identity (I took my passport).
Try their Twitter account
I believe you could. Still, you have to get an appointment.
I believe walk-ins are not allowed in any of the DMV offices. You should get an appointment. However, I read recently that renewals of regular driving licenses can now be done online, I just don't have the details
Not yet
Yes. Got to https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/onlineservices/appointments.aspx Transactions, pick your city or close city to you, then drivers license and identification cards [no testing required ones] Only available appointments will show. They add new ones and people drop everyday. Good luck
Wait another week then reach out to dmv via Facebook messenger or Twitter...they are VERY helpful and respond pretty quickly! Don't even attempt the 800 number...it's useless!
Make an appointment online, because of her age/condition have someone accompany her to the appointment
check your email. search dmv
Sunday is 2/7/2021
go on dmv website and ask
You're jumping the gun with that question.
Normally you could but until virus control is lifted no. You need to go to dmvnow.com and select an appointment.
You will have to check that you paid your property tax. That can be accessed from the DMV site at https://dmvnow.org.
I believe you can renew online unless you are upgrading to Real ID . You can do that at https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/drivers/#renewing.asp Otherwise, to schedule an in-person appointment you can do that at https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/onlineservices/appointments.aspx by selecting 'Transactions' for the service type, then selecting your service center, and then selecting 'Driver's License and Identification Card Services'.
To create an online account you don't need to call dmv
You should go to their official web page
There are actually no appointments available. This is very unfortunate and seems like DMV is not proactive here. Online is only option to schedule appointments at this point of time. I called customer care once and they said keep checking repeatedly as new appointment could become available. I send them an email but they did not respond.
Yes you can but you have to make an appointment online. Go to www.dmvnow.com
They are only doing behind the wheel tests at a few of the offices for now due to Covid-19. You have to make your appointment at one of those or wait until the one that you want to go to is doing them again.
At dmv.com you can make an appointment, for sure won't be before December
You can surrender your plates online, just google "va online plate surrender"
I'm having the same problem, assuming it's not because of the postponing of registration enforcement.
You cah renew it online, if you can't, you can get an extension till your appointment. You just carry that with you.
Not sure driving test are being done.. Check website
1. Get and pass emissions and state (get that at any (most) local gas stations 2. Proof of VA residency 3. Two forms of ID's Refer to link below https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#vehiclereg.asp
Believe u have at least a 30 day grace period.. But I am 100%certain I had expired plate tags and it was extended.. if this helps : you need to make an appointment at a DMV.. try to make one farther away from busier suburban area like Tysons,Fairfax.. Like leesburg for ex.. farther away as possible.. and you don't necessarily have appt only the for few options they allow. I went at the very end of the day! right before they were closing.. that is actually the best time! Good Luck
No...appointment only.
First you must set an appointment online. There are no walk-ins. Go to the website and it lists the documents you need. I would also consider just getting a REAL ID/driver's license, since there is a federal mandate requiring that by Oct 2021 that all VA issued IDs, driver's licenses must be REAL verified.
Yes but by appointment only.
Now is the time to go before they get crowded. My daughter went for her permit and we were out of there in 30 minutes or less.
Haha good luck with same day appts, Tysons is booked into mid July atm
Go on the website and make an appt. Unlikely any available for Tuesday but likely the following week...
You will need to contact DMV customer service and have them reissue the tags. https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/general/#utilities/contact.asp It is hard to get through on their phone but just keep trying, people DO get through. You also can go on their facebook page and message them on there as well. Just go to facebook, look up DMV Virginia and send them a private message. They usually reply within an hour.
I don't know if you already dealt with this. But you would need the actual death certificate and you would also need to go through the court system to be named administrator or executor of his estate. Once you have that you can go to DMV with both those papers and get a new title printed and then sign over the title to yourself as the admin or executor (whatever you are named by the court) and the title will be put in your name. Then you can sell it or do whatever you need to do with it.
No
You can try, but road tests are typically only by appointment. If you have all day to wait, you can tell them that you will wait and if they have a cancellation they will fit you in.
Yes, it's listed on the DMV website under road skills test.
Yes, you can take the computerized exam there. You will need proof of address and identification
I don't know how old this is, but even if you fax that, it will be put in a drawer unless you come in. It sounds like you need an SR22 on file, which is something your insurance company can put in the DMV system themselves. The DMV doesn't manipulate any records without the person being in the office. You would need to contact headquarters. Their number is on their website www.dmvnow.com. Or contact them on their social media site on facebook DMV Virginia. Send them a private message they typically respond within an hour.
Yes
If you didn't do this already, all you need to do is change the garage location of your car to California and the emission test will not be required. Safety inspection is going to be based on that state, some have them some do not. If it is required you will probably have to get it inspected in VA. Unless he gets it titled in Cali. But to do that he would need signatures from whomever is on the title and the paperwork. You would need to look up vehicle information on DMV for California.
There response to calls is really low .. You should either go reserve a date in advance or pick a weekday and go in the early morning (you might wait all day) and they will test you in between reserved
First, if you changed your name and you have a social security number you will need to change your name with the social security office. Once that is done and you have your new SSN card you can take that and your court documents showing your name change. You need proof of your name change, which would be whatever court documents you got from the court. No copies, originals only. If your name on your SSN card and passport match completely you can also change your name with just those two things, but the names MUST match.
You should be able to just download and print if from their website. https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/dmvnet/pin_maint/pin_logon.aspx?SESS=NEW
WWW..dmv.virginia.gov It is the page by which I have been able to carry out some procedures
It should be but she still needs a passport. I believe that is required not for travel anywhere outside the US to reenter.
Any travel OUTSIDE the US REQUIRES a passport to reenter the US. Real ID is ONLY for INSTATE travel. Period. Hope that helps. I think this is old, but people don't seem to know what they are talking about on here so thought i'd say.
Don't know if there's any way you can really work around it. For all information check out DMV. Virginia.gov to answer any specific questions
I really wish these questions had dates on them cause I don't know if you have already done this. But if you havn't, you will need to make an appointment for Original Registration on their website, take the plates in and they can transfer them to your other car. Only thing is that the other car has to have your name on it to put the plates on it. So you must be a name on the title/registration. https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/onlineservices/appointments.aspx
Yes I believe so. I believe this is where we got my mother her handicap tag years ago. It is a full-service DMV location so they should be able to help you
Your Fingers.
If you havn't done this already, just go to the DMV and complete an eye exam without your glasses. You will pay 20 dollars to re-issue the ID without the requirement.
Same happened to me....went to the dmv and they helped to get it.
Depends on which day you go. On weekends, the line usually starts around 7
No...its closed due to renovations
No
Dear friend kindly post your question in English so that someone can help you with your query. :)
I think of your Learners is expired before you get your license. Then you need to rewrite your written exam. You could always call dmv to verify.
You need to take ownership of the vehicle to get new number plate. Visit DMV fill VSA14 form. Get your identity proof. Vehicle insurance. And title transfer papers given to you by previous owner. All the best
Forever
Yes
Yes, by appointment or very, very early walk in only. People line up at 5:30 or 6 in the morning to hey a chance to have a walk in road test.
Go to the MyDMV website.Enter the following info:Customer number/social security number (SSN).Date of birth.Follow the prompts to complete the transaction.Pay the applicable fee. Once your request is processed, your license will be mailed to your current address.
Yes. U can get it.
Be prepared to sign over your kidneys
You have to then retake the written and driving test. Some states allow a few months after the expiration period. Call VA DMV to see their policy.
