Any travel OUTSIDE the US REQUIRES a passport to reenter the US. Real ID is ONLY for INSTATE travel. Period. Hope that helps. I think this is old, but people don't seem to know what they are talking about on here so thought i'd say.
Depends. REAL ID's are compliant which Virginia starting offering recently. Look at the front of your license and check if there is a star in the top right hand corner. If not then your ID won't work. It would be a good idea just in case to bring your passport as that is definitely recognized internationally.
