The boat launch area is a great place for both kids & adults . Minimal shade. Close parking , free life jackets , restrooms are clean . Highly recommend!

Beautiful place, there is always a chance to encounter dear or any other nature

Plenty of room to roam around and explore the woods and river. We went for a brief visit, and got a surprise sleet storm, so didn't get to explore as much as we wanted, but will definitely be coming back soon with the fly rods and to do some hiking.

The park was beautiful surrounded by big trees all around. Very helpful staff and well maintained throughout. Was surprised to see deers roaming within the park. We camped for two days and we enjoyed every bit of our stay. Showers and flushing toilets are available for campers. The river is easily accessible for simple water activities. Pro tip: for a decent mobile network with lte/5g, you need to drive outside the park for 5 miles.

Side of the road.
Cougars and bears walk through the park occasionally, so be aware of your surroundings, make noise and hike with a friend! Also, the river is fast and cold so please take extra precautions when going in the water. We always recommend wearing a life jacket.
It's $22 per night for a site when it's open. Please note the campgrounds at Oxbow Regional Park is currently closed until further notice. https://www.oregonmetro.gov/parks/oxbow-regional-park/camping-oxbow
Camping at Oxbow is $22 per night per site. More info can be found here: https://www.oregonmetro.gov/parks/oxbow-regional-park/camping-oxbow Please note that the campgrounds at Oxbow are currently closed until further notice.
Not by the water. There are picnic tables along the road with grills. If you get one close enough to a pathway to the water, it can be a short/enjoyable walk :) #iloveoxbowpark
As of now they were as it was raining there yesterday. But as the heat rises there will be a ban. I would call Oxbow and confirm. They do sell an armful of wood for $5
The park opens at 6:30 am and closes at sunset. Any specific times for campsites will be on the website.
Hi Jeb, Metro parks have free parking days the third Thursday of every month. You can find more information about free parking days here: https://www.oregonmetro.gov/news/free-parking-days-metro-parks-2020
The Sandy River is swift and unpredictable, so I would advise against it. There aren't any areas of the river calm enough to paddleboard within Oxbow. If you go, please be safe and wear a life jacket.
It depends on where your going. When you Google oxbow park it normally takes you to the park that you have to pay and it closes at 7. If you go to the Lewis and Clark/ Oxbow park you don't have to pay and people camp all around there. Instead of getting off a the marine exit. Go past that exit to the next one Lewis and Clark/Oxbow park. Hope this helps. I did the sane thing.
Unfortunately, Oxbow doesn't have a wheelchair accessible area for fishing due to river erosion. Blue Lake Regional Park in Metro's portfolio would be a much better option for disabled fishing.
Yes, the park is open this weekend and you can swim in the river. Please be safe and consider wearing a life jacket when going in or near the water.

$22 a night. https://www.reserveamerica.com/explore/oxbow-regional-park/OR/402500/overview
Yes I think so. There's a detailed guide to kayaking the Sandy river, with maps of each segment, at https://www.ci.sandy.or.us/Sandy-River-Water-Trail/.
You need to go online to reserve campsites www.reserveamerica.com
Yes
Yes, but the park wardens are usually watching for cars with no park sticker. The only people actually stopping their vehicle should have at least a day use fee paid.
I have Verizon and get connection up near the Boat Ramp
It cost $5 to go into Park and then extra for camping. You will need to make reservations online.
Nor would you want to. The river isn't wide enough or deep enough through many parts. Try the Columbia or Willamette River instead 🙂
Yes
Just have to reserve a spot that will benefit your adventure.
$22 per night per site $5 per vehicle fee on day of entry only
$5 for day use
You can park at one of their their trailheads up on the hill for free and hike in. It's not an easy treck though. Otherwise, no walk ins
You can have visiters stay just pay extra car price I believe
No pets. Last summer a deer and her fawn walked thru our campsite several times each day we were there. We saw many other wild animals, but none came as close as the deer.
There are sites close to the water but not on the water. Try the new campsites they opened up this year in the seventies I believe we had campsite 72 and it was amazing! We just had to walk down the hill to the water. The group sites are pretty much just the same in distance to water as the regular tent sites if not farther. But there are gay sites that are pretty close if not on the water right whe you pull into Oxbow. I hope you go it's beautiful out there. They have added a lot of more campsites and it seems like there's more dear than I've ever seen there. LOL!
There is also a section of the park that lies across the Sandy River that has limited parking October to May. There is also limited hiking area, but lots of fishing room and no charge for admission.
Car pass $5 Bus pass $7 Campsite for one night $22 Wood Bundle $5
But it's quite bit snow on 24th, so slick road with steep hills, like chains/traction tires needed, if you dare.
They post closing time on a large sign at entrance. Usually within 5 minutes of the official sunset time fir each day.
Yes
Dogs and other pets are not allowed, because they can damage sensitive habitat and threaten wildlife.
