There are sites close to the water but not on the water. Try the new campsites they opened up this year in the seventies I believe we had campsite 72 and it was amazing! We just had to walk down the hill to the water. The group sites are pretty much just the same in distance to water as the regular tent sites if not farther. But there are gay sites that are pretty close if not on the water right whe you pull into Oxbow. I hope you go it's beautiful out there. They have added a lot of more campsites and it seems like there's more dear than I've ever seen there. LOL!
There is a group site that is closer to the river, you will need to walk in a bit to get to it, tent site only.
Not really. The park is kind of divided into 2 sections: camping(trailers, tents, etc) and day use. You have access to all of it when you enter Oxbow, but day use is along the river and the camp ground is set a back a bit.
