Book this tour! Well worth the price: wet suit and snorkel gear clean and nice, staff knowledgeable and kind. Captain Chaz was an interesting dude, and guide Ryan offered to answer any manatee questions. Saw 3 manatees in June.

Captain Chaz and our in water guide Hanna we’re OUTSTANDING!!!!! Hanna checked on my family if 5 the whole time while taking Go Pro pictures, which are on sale to purchase after (I would recommend buying that package!) as well as letting us know where the manatees were. We saw around 4 manatees and they hung out around us the whole time. Captain Chaz was very knowledgeable and he was also great at keeping watch and making sure everyone was safe. My 11 year old and twin 6 year olds LOVED IT!!! I want to do it again!!!

Incredible experience! Can't wait to do it again. Never kayaked in Crystal River but it was so easy to get around. Staff was amazing. We saw turtles, birds, dolphins, and manatees.

I had a great experience on the silver tour. We took the 7am tour and arrived at 6:30 to put on our swim gear. They have changing rooms and a little shop at the check-in inside the Best Western. We watched a required video from FL Fish and Wildlife about manatee laws then met our captain and went out to the boat. The boardwalk to get out the the boat was shaky with no handrails, which could be a problem for some. Our tour was a little crowded with 13 people. We rode around for about 2 hours looking for a manatee that was not crowded. It was supposed to be a good manatee day (cold February day) but we didn’t find many. Our Captain Yves ended up bringing us to an area with colder water but a couple of manatee that were not being visited by other your groups. There was a guide that got in the water with us to help spot manatees. We swam around for about 30 minutes total and then headed back. After the swim, there is a small toilet room to change in, but it’s not really enough room to move. Overall a great tour with a knowledge Captain and I would recommend this company over others. It was clear that they care and respect the animals. We watched two different tour company’s literally driving a boat over a mom (cow) and baby (calf)!

We are visiting Florida the first week in October. Is this a good time to swim with the manatees?
I dont think it would fit with glasses on. Also, you dont need to be a pro swimmer but you should be able to swim with a floating noodle at least.
We were here on Thursday to swim with manatees. They say the water is a constant 72 degrees, but it was very cold this week. I got out of the water and it was very cold. I've never had it this cold. But it was worth it!
Yes, but they are flexible with reschedules if need be. Some days they may have same day availability
Yes. They fill up fairly quickly. Easy to do on the website by date and then it shows available time slots.
The water in King's Bay is spring water that stays around 70-72 degrees, and the wetsuit provides buoyancy and helps keep the water closer to your body temperature, making it more comfortable. Wetsuits are included on all our tours (except the Bronze, Observer), and our staff will assist you in choosing the right size wetsuit for your tour.

Maybe a few right up in the springs. They will move out into the warmer water of the Gulf and move up and down the West Coast during the summer and fall months. Most active up in the springs during the winter when Gulf temperatures drop below 72 degrees. And the Springs will stay warmer at that temperature.
We also opted for the private tour and it was well worth it. We had a great time and a knowledge guide who was able to make the experience more to our needs.
I did this swim and YES you can touch them. It's the only place you can do this. They have permits for it. They have a guide that gets in and swims with you and oddly it seems the manatee know them. When the manatees go to them u can swim up and touch them. Sometimes the manatees will swim up and lay on you. This happened on our trip twice three times if you count the guide. Enjoy the trip it's worth every penny to see and touch them...... for the people who answered no please educate yourself and actually take the trip before responding.
The best time is late December thru mid March In my opinion. Try to avoid Christmas week and Easter week and most weekends as those are busy times. Also I prefer small group tours with a maximum of 6 people if you can afford it.
We went in February, too warm, they all went to gulf. Maybe had 5 or 6 still hanging around. Then we had cold spell, saw about a dozen or more at park in tarpon springs.
$50.00 per person. A great experience well worth the money. Enjoy!!
Starts at $50 to get in the water. To stay on the boat and watch from the boat its $30.
Manatees are there all year round however they are there in droves during January - March/April.
