The Oakland Airport is my go-to airport for Southwest flights. Southwest has its own terminal in the airport and has some of the cheapest flights to Hawaii. I visited the airport on the 19th for a trip to Kahului (Maui, Hawaii) and while some areas of the airport were extremely busy, other areas like the restaurants and bathrooms felt almost empty. Only complaint is their lack of restaurants. The only chain restaurant in the airport was a small, secluded Subway and considering it is such a popular airport I was expecting more dining options, but there were virtually no good options. (Shout out to the Subway in OAK, they were amazing and the prices were reasonable!). When I returned to the airport on the 26th at 9:30PM it was almost empty and super peaceful. This is my favorite airport in California and I would recommend it to anyone looking for cheap flights and amazing service.

Much better place to fly than sfo if possible. Has very less crowd and lines are super fast. Even the staff is super friendly. Please fly from OAK if possible.

My favorite airport used to be San Jose, but when they stopped letting us exit onto the tarmac, that place suddenly became irrelevant in my eyes. Cue up Oakland. They usually have direct or one stop flights to wherever you want to go and getting here is a snap. The shuttle from BART works great but I typically drive. Even the parking is close and easy to use. Security is usually busy but manageable and the concourses are not overly big. SF gets all the attention but for those in the know, Oakland airport is a far better place to fly.

Love this airport because it's not crowded. Airport was neat and clean. Bathrooms also clean. TSA was quick and painless. The only reason for not getting 5 stars was there were no electrical outlets near our gate (15) to charge our devices.

Yes to Guadalajara on Volaris airlines!
There is a tram that takes you to BART, there are signs as soon as you walk outside directing you to the tram.

No l can Not Help.....!?
at the airport: $ 24 / day near the airport: $ 8 / day
Yes, depend upon the Airline, I fly frontier.
Walid it depends where you are going. Hawaii for example requires covid test to be taken.
Terminals aren't based on arrivals and departures. Terminals are for airlines generally. https://www.oaklandairport.com/maps-directions/driving-directions/
Well what do you think your at a airport in Oakland sorry you have a great day safe travels
2 hours is good....
Maybe
Fridays are usually busy as it is almost the weekend. People usually like to get to the place they want to get to, during, or right before the weekend. A good time to travel is usually Tuesday -Thursday.
twenty miles or so
Terminal 1
I stayed alone for about an hour and a half and they charged me 4 dollars
Yes it it.
I do not understand your question. Where do you live? If you are outside the United States and you travel to that airport, you must have the vaccines and take a test that shows that you do not have covid. But if you live there and you are just going to pick up your family and they are the ones who obviously traveled, you shouldn't do anything. You can go into Okland airport and no one is going to ask you for anything.
Well, they are like 10 or 12 km. In time from 10 to 15 min.
Unfortunately the Oakland International Airport does not have lockers or other storage facilities.
Check with your airline for requirements to your destination and back. Things seem to change daily. Masks are still a federal mandate in the airports and in planes. Safe travels.
I would check with TSA
2 yrs old wth the airlines are crazy.....thx for info tho
If you're going to hawaii, yes you do.
You can ho as low as 5.50 a day check the link below https://www.cheapestairportparking.com
Terminal 1
IDK. I flew Long Beach to Oakland. Best ✔ with airline.
Yes check one week prior to your scheduled departure date because things are constantly changing.
No, only the usual sanitary measures, mask is essential
They ask you for identification to enter the waiting room, the ticket must go in your name, do not risk it
???? I have no idea what you're asking me about. This review was my second time in this airport. Sorry
Depends on which lot, and how long. Range is $16-$38 /day in the airport but there are several park and stay fairly close with shuttle service that can be cheaper.
I think not
Most of Asia have opened up but, call
User uber or lyft
Cab or Uber/lyft, (Do Not Ride Bart). Don't do it at night im 6'5 300 pounds and I was genuinely concerned for my Safety at night. but i had no option and couldn't afford any other route... my advice is go to the airport during the day and stay there until your flight is ready to go, or stay at the airport until the morning find somewhere to lay down and sleep
I recommend you search for prices on Googleflight.com and expedia.com
Terminal 1
It's a very small airport. I'd recommend getting out - jack London square is nearby and has lots of cool restaurants and cafes and shops. It's on the pier as well. Otherwise, there are small cafes and restaurants and a bar in the airport as well
Yes
i would say - especially with baggage claims
Oakland Airport parking rates can usually range anywhere from $18/day for economy to $24/day for daily, $34/day for hourly, and $38/day for premier.
Not to sure be careful over there
Upper floor, counter in NW corner by Starbucks.
Google can better inform you.
There is no problem. Plan this when buying the ticket.
Terminal 2 for sure. Also, there's a connector that links with Terminal 2 next to gate 4
Yes please, Jetsuitex fly nonstop from Oakland to Seattle.
No ideal sory
Not at the moment
The airport is open 27/7.
Terminal 1
Yes, true. Call REAL ID
We were there last night. Everything seemed to be okay. No delay. It's normal TSA inspection.
Can help if in English
Hi how are things?! To claim bags you would have to go see an airline representative and ask about the bags. Airlines have different ways in which they solve these conflicts, 1) unload the suitcases if the passenger misses the flight 2) they take you to your destination I hope this information can help you, good luck!
Do you have to be member in order to go to the lounge's I'm a Hawaiian miles member beginner same goes for southwest and gold status Starbucks also it says in Google maps that flight comes in at 8:50 arrive time seems I was wrong on arrival time however I still plan to stay at airport if possible over night I can sleep in chairs easily if need be was planning on sleeping on planes and staying awake all night
If you have a ticket it will go as baggage. Most airlines have a package service. Call the airline of your choice and ask for instructions. All packages are x-rayed.
Yes, we lasagna and ceasar salad with red wine. Very nice.
It is crazy....I'm paying 100 for 22 miles
35.1 miles and as little as 40 minutes, ofcourse depending upon when your planning your trip.
Great question, have you tried reaching out to The Customer Support center to inquire about your question?
Yes, plus delays. Its been in the news.
No free parking. Choice for parking. Hourly or long term
Personal use is ok, I'd pack in your checked in baggage, not your carry on.
The Oracal Arena Bart station has a Tram that shuttles people to and from the Oakland Airport every five minutes and it's free. This Shuttle is about three miles and takes about ten minutes each way. Hopefully this helps you with your questions.
Since insulin injections come in varied forms (individual vials, injection pens and injection pumps) it's safe to say that your insulin may not have a sticker attached to it as most medication bottles do. If you use any of the above devices, they come packaged with the prescription information printed on the packaging. Bring this packaging with you. If you don't have the packaging, bring a copy of the prescription written by your physician.
Yes. There is a cut off age when they arent required to be babysat by airline employees. The program by the airline offers "unaccompanied minors" supervision and not much else. Every airline is different and each airline charges a fee for this service. Check on your air carrier's website for specifics.
Yes @ the cashier office.
Don't know that answer mine was quick and easy when I flew in from Pennsylvania
That's for sure... but I recommend change at moneygram or western union to get better rate
If you locate the right team manager who is allowed to perform this type of transaction.
Absolutely
No you can't at all
NOTHING OVER 6 OUNCES
There are flights to Maui. Search Google for more information.
Absolutely
You can smoke outside of baggage. Where you grab an Uberpool or taxicab.
Sorry i do not speak Spanish.
Terminal 1. Park in the short-term parking lot. Stay to your left when coming into the airport...as parking lots will come quickly.
True on that I'm sorry that I don't speak Spanish.
Yes they do change all the time.
there are no lockers here
Some 24/7, but some close at 9pm
I think some of them are open 24 hours a day
I found some stats online and it normally fills up the day before as people generally like to be at their destination by the 4th. But you may be lucky. You could just Uber if that is viable. Or bart maybe. Either will get you there pretty quickly.
Didn't understand anything
Outside Terminal 2 there is a pick up area but remember this is a no waiting zone. It is meant for active loading only. Best to have then call you when ymthey are walking out and hang out into the 'cell phone lot' before you head up. Could save you a few happy laps of the airport or a ticket.
If you're already there, go to ticket counter. They will charge you a fee sometimes, which is dumb. Just don't show up
If you are flying Southwest, bags fly free and you are allowed two checked bags and one carry on. Check your airline website for restrictions. All other airlines charge for checked bags except for Southwest.
Over an hour and 15mins. But traffic times can be way longer like commuter times up to 3 hours.
3,745,000 bucks
Contact airport authority
No, there are two different ones. Oakland is 17 min. from San Francisco and SF Airport probably further. Annika
Stupid Question.
Yes, it's the fastest, and easiest airport to get in and out of in the Bay Area
Im pretty sure if its in a sealed bag from a store, i.e beef jerky, Twinkies, peanuts, candy, you're ok! Just don't go through Orlando with anything in a bag, they will take it and throw it away! Oakland's pretty chill, but you should always consult the TSA's website just to be sure
Make sure you put it in a clear plastic bag with your smoking equipment and declare it to a TSA agent at the gate. You must have more than 2 ounces to travel and it must be broken down into half ounce bags to be allowed into the terminal.
There is a variety of overnight parking near the airport and it is quite affordable if you reserve in advance. Do a search for discount long term. The parking on airport property is quite expensive. Over 20/day. Off site within 5 mins of airport can be found for 7-9/day
Just bring your own booze, TSA is really cool about that kind of stuff.
Counters inside, shuttle to cars.
Short or Long term? Short term varies - $6 per 20min or $3 per 20 with a longer walk.
Learn to use your app. Enter Muir Woods as a destination & your start point. This will answer your question
Yes, all the major companies
1 Airport Dr, Oakland, CA 94621, USA
There is no shuttle. Best bet would be to take BART to Dublin and hop a Modesto BART Express bus from there.
Depending on the airline... many have it.
No, usually they are only open during day
Depends on which airline. There are 2 terminals at Oakland airport. Pretty straight forward with curbside pickup. Look for the Oakland airport website for list of airlines and terminals
Pretty safe no problems.
That's quite the question. For the most part, the airport itself is not responsible for anything other than hosting flights and selling overpriced cologne. Damage wise, the airport isn't responsible for anything it doesn't cause (i.e. something falls in your car). If you need a car, just make your life easier and get an Uber. I hope that covered the ambiguous elasticity of your question.
Yes
No one takes a cab anymore they take too long to arrive and the charge quadruple Uber, pick up your phone and request Uber they'll be there in a minute to two and even better they pick you up from a special Zone in the airport specially for phone app rides.
This depends on a variety of conditions, like traffic or method of transportation. If you're driving by car, expect a drive time of at least 30 minutes (according to Google).
Use Google and do some research yourself.
Not cool. Just like everywhere else in the state.
Yes, I've rented up to a 15 passenger van in the past here. But make sure to check ahead, especially for HS sports teams
All of Term 2 is SWA.
Don't without searching. But the BART is a short walk.
A USPS Mail box located curbside at Terminal 2, near the Airport Information Booth
Not sure why it got more busy but everytime I fly through there there's a delay of at least 30 minutes from scheduled. I think SFO is overloaded.
Check with your airline.
Hourly Rate: $5 per 60 minutes (First 2 hours per 24 hours) Day Rate: $24 Daily Maximum
You need to look at your airline's website
