Would not let me in without proof of covid vaccine, have been unable to locate the facility who has record of my vaccination.. I will not continue getting vaccinated when already vaccinated.

Had two experiences with Perry's Place out in Van Nuys so we drove half an hour to this shelter instead. It's so much better. We adopted a new kitty and she is extremely adorable. They have a number of cats at this shelter that I wish we could adopt but sadly we only have room for one more cat. Hopefully they all find good homes.

This is one of the most compassionate and excellent pet and animal rescue organization in the san Fernando valley. My cat was dying after I had already spent 2000 dollars on vet services I could not afford to do anymore, West Valley Animal Shelter saved my cat, and found them a good home. Amazing!

My son just adopted his first cat from here & everyone was super nice & all paperwork was handled professionally. They make the whole process very easy and straightforward. My family has always adopted from the county pound.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Just seen this post. Whatever happened to all those kitties?
Have you tried going? Theyre usually busy at the beginning of the week.
$122 This includes: -spay and neuter -microchip -vaccines -1st year license -voucher for a free vet exam
Go to the cattery and take a look at all the cats. When you find the one you are interested in adopting write down the animal identification number and take a photo of him/her if possible. Take this information to the front counter, fill out the paperwork, pay the adoption fee which is around $76.00 and when he/she is microchipped, sterilized and vaccinated they will allow you to take him/her home with you. I sincerely hope that you find the cat of your dreams very soon. Good luck to you!
The vaccines are around $20 each and the sterilization costs around $125.00 at the regular price but if you take a copy of your gas bill or of a bill from the department of water and power along with an identification such as your driver's license you can request a voucher for a discount on the surgery. Go to the front counter and take these documents with you as soon as possible because the vouchers are very limited each month. Good luck
If you want to bathe your kitty wait from 15 to 22 days for the surgery to heal because other wise instead of healing the wound is going to rot. Give him some cat nip to eat right before you bathe him because this has a sedating effect. Good luck!
Take the dog to the West Valley Shelter. They can check the dog for a chip and hopefully notify the owner. They are full, but they're obligated to take in the dog.
Yes! This is THE place to take him! Good job rescuing him, as well!
The dog has to be turned in to a shelter or other authorized o organizations that has a scanner and access to the microchip database.
They open at 8 am. It's hard to say who will show up for any animal. I recommend getting there by 7:30 am and have it's animal ID # handy. If more than one person is interested in the same animal and line up with you, it will go for auction to the highest bidder. Good luck!
I think it is about $17. You will need to bring something to take it home in. They have cardboard carriers for sale for an additional $5.
Not sure about all birds but they do have chickens. Hope that helps!
I suggest you call them. But usually no records are stored in the microchip. The chip is for identifying who your dog belongs to in case the dog is lost. Sorry
Check the website at www.laanimalservices.com
Cats are often free and occasionally certain dog breeds during the year
Visit their website http://www.laanimalservices.com/ There is a tab at the top for volunteering and I think it covers both East and West Valley. They ALWAYS need help so give it a go! Good luck and blessings to you and your giant heart! 💙🐾
In order to play with a dog, you need to express interest in adopting the dog to one of the employees who will arrange to allow you spend some time with the dog in a fenced play/acquaintance area. Staff doesn't allow people to simply ask to play with the animals otherwise. But yes, if adopting, then kids are welcome.
If you are picking him up from the shelter, he/she will be fully vaccinated upon retrieval. There is also that 7 day free well check voucher for veterinary services. Now, if you mean you already have the dog in your possession and the 7 days have expired, I believe they may still do that for a very nominal fee. Or there are programs available for low cost/no cost vaccinations but you would need to call them directly or possibly any veterinary clinic or even the department of Animal services, L.A. Hope this gives you some direction and a very happy day to you and your little baby! 💙
No. You just go during regular business hours and walk around to see them in their kennels. You can only interact with the dogs once they are available for adoption. Just ask a volunteer or staff person to let you meet them.
I believe a dog has an adoption fee of around $120 which includes a spay or neuter (done before you take them home), age appropriate shots, microchip and a voucher for a free vet visit. I got my dog for only $65 because she had been there more than 10 days. If you visit their website you can find the exact amount of the fees. Your fee may include the cost of the county license, as well.
It Is Not a No Kill shelter. The captan Esperanza is very cruel. She likes to Kill . The impounded my beautiful girl, found her guilty without a trial and won't let me see her
The canned food can definitely be used. If the dry food isn't sealed, i would ask the staff to see if they can accept it.
They will take any animal you bring as long as it was found in their jurisdiction.
Canidae Dry (all life stages)
To my knowledge, it is a no kill shelter, as long as the animal is in good health.
I am not really sure about how much they charge to adopt a hamster, but I would suggest that you go directly to the shelter and talk to someone at the front counter or go to their website for more information.
I assume that you cannot get through because there is a very limited amount of people answering the phone. I am talking from experience because when I called north central to report a dog that my friend, my mother and I saw tide to a tree at a house on sitchell at all times they never answered me. We had to go there personally to give the officer at the counter a written report. I guess they resolved the matter because we haven't seen the dog since.
No not at the moment but you can google TNR programs and contact them
If the dog was found and has been brought into the shelter with no identification they'll put a picture up on the website
Yes. At the door you will be asked to show proof of vaccination and they will also provide you with a facemask
Blankets with no feathers or stuffing or pillows, cushions are no used here. No open food or medications. They accept gift cards too. You can ask for a donation receipt.
Monday through Friday it's by appointment only. Saturday and Sunday they are open to the public
You have to call first. They only see people with appointments. As long as you have the mother with the kittens you should be able to surrender them if they're doing intake and are not full. Call them and they'll let you know what to do.
About $100.00
Course
The public animal shelters do not euthanize pets on request. It is better to go to your own veterinarian for this as they will allow you to be present and keep your pretty comfortable through the process.
Check the website at www.laanimalservices.com to see. They are $11
Shelter is not open. Only for vaccines but not to look and adopt
As is your puppy you are looking for I found a Husky I do not know if this puppy is written
Yes, you can. I adopted an "ower surrendered" but their life span is very limited... I'm really sorry you have to do this and highly recommend you say you "found" the animal (it buys them a little more time) or better still, contact one of many "rescues" not city shelters and seek their advice. I really wish you all the best of luck and many blessings.
Los Angeles drives to be a no-kill sitting but unfortunately those things happen in case of disease or chronic disease the animals are often put down but really sell them at West Valley
Just make sure you do take some to West Valley and you don't leave them out for themselves to send that's not fair to the animals
You can surrender your dog. I don't think there's a fee. Sorry for your situation
Yes come see them
It depends if they are spayed/neutered or not. Additionally, the shelter runs specials on cat adoptions, offering them for free throughout certain periods of the year
Take them to the shelter especially if they are less than 8 weeks old. They will get a medical exam vaccines, dewormed and then fostered out until they are 8 weeks old then, they go up for adoption and the fees include vaccines deworming being spayed or neutered and microchipped.
It's possible they have a trap you can borrow. Call them.
No more than $71.
They also have certain days where adoption fees are discounted I would call and ask about it
While it's not your responsibility bc it's not your cat rather your doing your neighbor a favor, I would still suggest putting an ad on Craigslist 9r some other form. There are also rescue leagues in each district of each county. You may have to make a drive but I'm certain there are groups that take cats and dogs of specific breeds who will foster the cat and attempt to get them adopted. I'm sure there is a minimal fee but it's worth your conscientious. I'm sure you'd feel a little better taking that route than to send it to it's death. On the other hand depending on where you live you may be able to locate a "no kill" shelter which is also a fantastic alternative to sending poor Kitty to death camp.
Call the shelter. http://www.laanimalservices.com/shelters/ They are closed on Monday.
They have done all the health checks and the spay/neuter for you, as well as the license is taken care of for the first year. Great dogs to choose from, just go and meet your new best friend.
They try, but they only have so much space. Also, they have a budget set by the state, so rescue groups go in and take animals that need more time to get a home.
They cannot refuse you if you relinquish an old sick dog to them. They will ultimately make the decision whether they need to euthanize the animal or not.
If I am not mistaken, it around $20. But you may ask or call them
You need to be 16 or older with an I.d and an application filled out if you are 16 and 17 you need an adult present with valid i.d too
I think 25 -50 for ours, and she was a jack Russell
Call the shelter, they have information. You can get a rabbit spayed/neutered with info from them.
No
You just need to know the date of birth tell them if the animal is spay or neutered and the reason your leaving the animal
Is the county and city license the same and can they be transferred?
I am not sure. You would have to call them. Sorry
They wont answer here, you have to call and go in.
The shelter takes in All animals...No exceptions
Yes. If she is 18, she can go the shelter and volunteer. She should explain she needs community service. They can provide her a letter attesting to her service when complete
At the moment there is only one there.
You might be able to get a discount right now because the shelters are pretty full and they're trying to move the cats out.
You can adopt maximum 3 per household....
There closed every Monday I Belive there is someone to help with emergency services
Dog adoption is $122 that includes vaccines spay/nature micro chip and license.
You need to be 18 to volunteer at any city shelter
They offer rabbits for adoption and have a dedicated room for them. Last time I was there, they had a about 6 bunnies available
Aww the shelter will take them
Are you dropping off ? They have outside kennels.
Call or visit the shelter and explain the issue. Most likely will refer to animal control
Hi, give them a call. This page is the review page
We were told my dog was a AGG surrender... Lol she's doing just fine with my other pitts! She was nice since day one from bringing her home.
He is supposedly chipped! I have the number, and I called and made sure that it's linked to me! And I would love to stop by, but I live in WA.
The shelter only sterilizes pets that are adopted from the facility. They offer vouchers to help, but only for dogs and cats. You would need to contact other private clinics to have a rabbit fixed.
Yes, they take animals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are leaving a stray pet they won't charge you a penny but if you are surrendering your own pet be ready to pay a fee, show them your identification and answer some questions as to why you are doing this. Since this is a high-kill shelter I strongly recommend that you take this pet to Pasadena Humane Society at 361 South Raymond Avenue where they will do their utmost to make sure he is adopted and not euthanized. Please have some compassion for this helpless creature don't think only of yourself! Not even god approves of so much cruelty!
I don't know if they do
Yes, you can surrender pets that you no longer want but you have to pay around $25.00 to leave a dog, $15.00 to leave a cat and so forth. You also have to bring an identification with you such as your driver's license and be ready to answer some questions as to why you are surrendering him. A pet is part of the family it is not an old garment that you can discard simply because you no longer want it. Would you have liked it if your parents had gotten rid of you just because they were fed up with caring for you? If for some reason he is killed it will only be your fault for being so selfish and cruel! Have some compassion for him because he kept you company and consoled you and the rest of your family when you were sad! Don't just think of yourself! Not even god sees your cruel way of rewarding hem with favor! One day you can become helpless and others can disposed of you too! You know? Haven't you thought about it! Face reality, only god is indispensible!
You can bring the cat to this facility but eventually he might be euthanized for laack of space or of potential adopters. Or because he might become too sick for anyone to wan to treat him.
