To my knowledge, it is a no kill shelter, as long as the animal is in good health.
If u pay a fee and surrender the animal in good condition also there are no kill shelters around
ALL L.A. county shelter are kill shelters!
They dont kill them they wait until they sadley its not thise shelters that put them to sleep
They hold onto animals as long as they possibly can based on how much space they have, how friendly and how healthy the animal is. They have a high adoption rate and do very well. In fact, the vast majority of animals entering this facility either return to their owners or go to new owners. Owners thinking of leaving an animal there should understand it should be a last resort after trying other options. It is the best place to bring an animal you find that doesn't belong to you as it is the first place and central location for owners to look for their pet.
It's a low kill shelter and when I found that out I stopped volunteering here. Best Friends is a no kill shelter and an all around better environment
Yes it is a kill shelter.
No as far as I know they do euthanize here for lack of space, of potential adopters and supposedly when the animals are too sick to do anything for them. If you are surrendering an animal I would suggest that you take him to the Pasadena Humane Society at 361 South Raymond Avenue or try to see if you can locate best friends animal society at Mission Hills. These are truly no kill shelters. Good luck!
