The wetlands is a free resources that all ages can enjoy. Bring a hat, water, juice, a stroller if you have kids. No bicycles allowed. There are some shaded areas but if it’s hot out prepare to get a lot of sun. Lots of birds, Lizards and alligators. There are educational writings about each bird that is in the wetlands. It’s beautiful nature with a lot of sounds of birds and visuals for kids If you or a consumer or the owner and like this review you could say thank by following me on Google reviews and liking this post…. ……. I loved this. Man they have an alligator that is massive. I don't know what he's eating but this thing is eating real good. It's a nice walk and pretty scenery. We got to see a hawk caught a large lizard and ate it.

These wetlands make you feel like you’re transported far from the hustle and bustle. They’re a quick walk with the easy to maneuver boardwalk. There are also small shaded areas throughout but overall you’re out in the sun here so bring sunscreen. There are tons of birds to see in the trees, flying overhead, wading, and even swimming underwater. Keep your eyes peeled for different animals such as fish and turtles all around too. You’ll see plenty of people with binoculars and professional cameras capturing close ups of the birds, but there are plenty that can be seen without any special equipment. It’s seriously impressive how many birds are here to be seen! Parking can be tough on the weekends but they had attendants ensuring spots got filled as they opened up. There’s free parking and some minimally maintained bathrooms.

Thoroughly enjoyed our walk along the boardwalk. It was an oasis of calm on a sunny day. We spotted iguanas, alligators and various species of birds along our walk. Entry to the wetlands is free and would appeal to nature and bird lovers. A great afternoon out for both the young and old with accessible access for those in wheelchairs.

I just called today Oct 21, 2021 and was told it is closed till Oct 29 2021, when it will reopen.
Go late afternoon. Less cares. More parking. And watch the sunset over the Wetlands.
Yes. You are correct
Gatorbait!!!!! However ive seen irresponsible pet owners take advantage od emotional support and or service animal without proof Usually a baby carriage will work for your ilegal endeavor But its only a boardwalk it gets really hot a times so your pet will not enjoy I elaborated response due to the frequency of this question Good luck 🚧🚔🚧🚔🚧🚔😇🙀🙀
This is not a park. It's a nesting place for many birds. Alligators, bees are amongst others. There's a wooden bridge to walk around and watch. Yes, kids friendly. Binoculars comes in handy.
Its the perfect place for disabled people like me to get some fresh air its also has gazebos that provide shade Bring a hat and sunblock anyway its a little piece of heaven There are other places nearby like green cay and rigth by bedners market Enjoy a nice day out Its now called ECOTHERAPHY google it
As far as I know of it's not because of the iguanas but because of the hurricane. Also the cold weather. But I could be wrong
Just left there is always a pleasure😎😇use bathroom before arrival on holidays Walgreens near by😰😨😌
Sounds like water from canals, could be from storms
Hello, the hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Saturday!
No pets allowed, sorry. There is someone there monitoring who comes in and out as well
To clarify "now" it is generally late February. We were there in early February and the storks were on the nests. Online info gave the time frame I mentioned.
Yes, the boardwalk is open dusk to dawn daily.
Yes! We just ask that you be respectful of the wildlife.
Oct 11th - Oct 29th
I don't know. They do have a few personnel that work there. They were open on Sunday the last time I went there, but they may not be open on Easter Sunday because of the personnel. They do have gates that can leave you locked out when the place is closed.
Yes u need your mask or you are not allowed in. Please stay safe while you are there.
There is a limited number of parking spaces, and once those are full, cars will be instructed to wait for the next available space to park. Different times of day, and weather conditions can allow for different numbers of visitors. Current visitor rules as follows are posted at the entrance to the boardwalk: Maintain 6 ft. social distance, Masks required, No camera setups/tripods under gazebos, follow all directional/ one-way walking signs. We hope you enjoy your visit.
This site is free and open to the public. Currently there are no restroom facilities available. Bring your own water, Masks are required. Signs are posted at the entrance. We hope you enjoy your visit!
I would imagine that occurs most likely in the springtime months. Which is also the start of Hurricane season so you may want to take that into account if you dont live locally
Maybe best to look for the phone number for Palm Beach County water utilities and call them to ask to get correct information. The website says nothing about being closed on Christmas but safer to call. Enjoy.
Pond apple
We were there the last week in April and saw many babies.
Yes, I think so
Didn't see anything announcing closing, maybe toilets are closed, though.
Some hatchlings did not make it after several days of heavy heavy rains and wind. There are several regular wildlife photographers that visit Wakodahatchee daily, and they also posted this info on their photo blogs. There are plenty of live babies and lots of activity.
Fishing or any active sporting activities are not permitted at Wakodahatchee. It is a natural wetlands with wildlife habitat and a boardwalk for walking and passive enjoyment of the scenery only. Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation department has several sites where fishing is permitted.
Gatorbait BIG NO NO🚧🚔🚧🚔🚧🚔🙀 You may get away w stroller and service emotional dog but its pushing your luck
They have two parking lots on- site. One small one and a larger overflow parking lot a little farther from the boardwalk.
You have to walk on the boardwalk. There are alligators in the water.
No. You walk on a board walk over the wetlands. A place to see wildlife
3/4 of a mile.
For bird watching I normally go at sunrise. After 10 you may have trouble finding a parking spot. No pets.
Not here.
They are closed for restorations. I believe they are re-opening next week.
You might want to eat closer to town. This is a residential area. There is an place called Coral Cafe near there that I saw on the map, however, I haven't tried it. Google maps says there's an Applebee's close. Hit the restaurants link.
I've seen them swimming in the water, never on the boardwalk.
They are clean at least mens bath your regular state park restroom not the ritz carlton open only during park hours and even if boardwalk is open bathrooms maynot beware dont feed the wildlife 😀🇺🇸😇 They face handicapped parking spaces in the utility storage bldg Ask the guard if any questions
No just a board walk for viewing wildlife
Freely
They're only open till sunset
It is posted no dogs, however I am sure that the alligators wouldn't mind
Go to Billy swamp safari rent a hut and make some smores with the gators😀 Kidding aside it is safety issue
Im on my way now they will be open tomorrow😇
The boardwalk is open, but I don't think the restrooms are. I believe that the boardwalk is open every day.it should be a wonderful way to greet the new year
Is going to reopen this coming weekend, and the damage is minimum just a few trees down
