It's definitely a beautiful drive in. When you drive into the park and go left, you'll have quicker access to the beach. If you drive to the right, you'll come across a picnic area and then have to hike down a short, STEEP, narrow path down. It's paved naturally and has some steps down and towards the bottom has rails. Once you hit the bottom there are men/women bathrooms, a couple benches and a few shaded areas. Other than that, it's wide open depending on the tide. There's sand and water. I rated it 3 stars because the nature aspect is what it is and it was beautiful. I rated it lower because the water wasn't the best and honestly, I wouldn't let my kids swim in it. It's clean enough to wade in the water. I'm not the best judgement on this one because I was raised on an island with pristine waters so take that as you will. Tons of dogs, children and adults were swimming or on boards.

Really nice park with wooded creek hikes and clear water beach. Dog friendly. Need discover pass which is also available at the park. Had a bit of confusion at first finding the correct way get to the beach parking lot and on to the creek trail. When in the parking lot with your back to the beach walk to the right where the thames creek trail starts and go under the huge metal bridge trestle along the creek. From there you can continue straight to do a loop or take the first right trail. The outbound trail and the old boundary trail made for a really enjoyable walk/hike. The changing levels along and above the creek were awesome. We looped back and went on to the beach which was amazingly clear and clean. Lots of pups enjoying there time too. Highly recommend. The campsites looked really nice too. We ended up first in that area before we figured out we were on the wrong side of the street for hiking. Hiking parking lot is on the water side of the park.

This park is lovely. On a warm day I can pretend I’m in Hawaii. There are picnic tables and bathrooms. Lots of kids like to play in the little River that flows out into the Sound. Bring sand toys if you have kids. I have seen people swim here- but it doesn’t look inviting to me.

This was an easy hike which was exactly what I was looking for.y friend and I were just going to do the log loop, but saw a sign for the beach. We decided the beach sounded great so we headed there. I liked the trail, it took us under the highway bridge which was interesting. The trails were a little busy, lots of other groups and cyclists going through.

There is a beautiful trail to the beach thru the woods. There are stairs where it's steep... I've never driven, I've always taken the trail.
Well we went not too long ago. They told us first come, first served is limited to a one night at a time stay unless the campground is not busy (peak season). We had to move to a different site the next morning. There is plenty more I can tell you about the fees and so on... We will definitely be sticking to our dispersed camping from now on.
No, not me. I would recommend visiting it for a good hike though.
Not if you're walking, yes if you're parking your car at the park. Buy discovery annual state park permit for $30, good for most state parks. $10/day otherwise per state park.
You can dig, but you have to check about the Red tide on the Washington State Parks page for it moves around quickly. I personally would not even chance it no where throughout the Canal.
Yes you can camp there. It is a state park. Reserve your spot online ahead of timeTo tent camp I think is $30 a night. Check it out online
There's no on-site store, no, but assuming the roads are decently clear, i.e. not Friday afternoon rush hour, there are several convenience stores not more than five, ten minutes away, max.
Not from the campground. If you hike down to the sound you should able to see the Olympic's on a clear day.
They vary based on the individual space. The reservations page on the website has descriptions, measurements and pictures of each individual site.
Free days are 100% free and do not require a Discover Pass according to thier website. https://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/
Yes
Go to Washington.Goingtocamp.com to check availability and cost.
There is public bathroom and showers inside the camp side of dashpoint. 2 showers on each side. You have to pay there is a spot where you get tokens 2 tokens per doller each token is 3 minutes for the shower. You have to bring your own shampoo and ect
I think day pass is 10 or 20, parking is free. There is a machine you can pay with card or bills. I think discovery pass is better option, 30 dollars for the whole year! I see lots people don't pay, but don't get caught by Ranger, that will be a fee more than 30 dollars!!
No
No, you do need the Discover Pass ($10 day pass or $30 annual pass) to park inside the state park. You can walk in for free or buy a day pass at an automated pay station but the annual pass is a much better deal if you go often enough.
On dash point rd. There's 2 entrances. The camping is on the "land ward" side and the day use is on the beach side.
You can get permission from the State Rangers on site or from the Volunteer on site. And Yes they definitely do allow it...
You would have to call them
I believe it is
8pm
Parking is pretty close to the beach, only about 5 minutes walk from the lot to beach. You need a Discover pass or pay to park
During peak season (summer) you'll need to reserve to get a spot, which you can do online. We reserved for two nights, and it was 78$. You will need a Discover Pass to park. Check in is at 230pm, and checkout is at 1pm. Happy Camping!
You can check online. https://washington.goingtocamp.com/ but I'm going to guess no.
Yep! There's a big lot pretty close to the water
No, there is cell service but no wifi or anything like that. Ita a campground and beach.
I do not think there are cabins at this State Park .
The only way to know for sure is to call the appropriate number and a automated voice will tell you if any are available for that park. I believe it goes through a list of several state parks with status of campsite availability. Just go to Washington State Parks online and you will find the 1 800 number to call there. At least thats the way i have done it in the past. I hope this was helpful and im sorry if it didnt. But have a fun time with whatever you end up doing that weekend anyways. And be safe.
Its not free, you have to buy tokens at the front gate and its like 3 tokens for the first 4 minutes and then a token for every additional minute
From April 1 through Sept. 30, the maximum length of stay in any one park is 10 days. From Oct. 1 through March 31, the maximum stay is 20 days. One camping party is allowed per site, with a maximum of eight people per site.
We had no problems with the shower they were portable showers and there was no charge
Depends on size & if you need power or not...but generhally between $25.o.o & $ 35 a night...unit 12/15 2018 no reservation. Tea. It is 1st come 1st serv3 one day at a time.
https://washingtongoingtocamp.com will give you all the information .
Call 1800CAMPOUT and they can tell you what's available
Yes and no. There is only a $10 discover pass fee if your parking/driving.
Leash on grassy areas or with people, unleashed on the beach area. Cleaning up after your dog and disposing of is of course mandatory.
You can't have fires or camp they close the park at sunset
Don't think so. Its not too far of a drive but traffic will be heavy. Federal Way does fireworks at Celebration Park too.
I'm so sorry that happened to you. The state has wonderful Federal,State and municipal parks, there are many publications about our parks. If you don't want actual hard publications go online and Google our parks....
It is mostly open year around. during winters, some campsites close while others remain open. They may have occasionally closures during winters.
Check their website but they usually have availability.
As you enter the park, go to the right, there is a shelter at the end of that short road.
Around $25-30 depending on the type of site you choose. Firewood would be around $5.
The tent sites did not have electrical outlets. This may have changed. Double check on the website and/or call and check with the reservation staff.
Boring place to camp but the previous 25 to 45 seems right
All vehicles need to have a visible Discover Pass or pay $10 to park. No reservations are accepted so get there early to grab it
The beach is locked down. The camping is open but there is a park ranger. You have to pay for a camping spot.
I remember seeing a notice board that says no entry to campsite after 10pm But it may have changed, so please confirm by calling them.
You have to have a Discovery Pass which is $30.00 and is good for the year.
I seen about 4 when i was there visiting a friend, all on lwashes and always friendly tho...
Partially. The park's winter hours are ostensibly 8am to dusk, but there are occasional closures if the snow gets too bad. No schedule, though, so you'll be rolling the dice if you go in a real snowy season, but otherwise Dash Point IS open during the winter.
Yes you can. The booth has envelopes you fill out. If you have a reservation put the reservation number on it and put your copy of the envelope on the site post. If you don't have a reservation, follow the instructions posted and pay for a site with an envelope.
I don't work for dadh point and I have not camp at dash point I believe its the same as the rest of the other state park
Are you asking for camping? It's 25 I believe to camp overnight and 10 for day use.
You can camp in your car but you still must purchase a camp site for the duration of your stay. Over the summer cost ranged from 25 to 45. I believe the prices just dropped though. Call the office phone number for more info on prices.
No , it's hard to get into a camp spot because they have most of the camp sights shut down for the season !! You can purchase a yearly discover pass for $ 30.00 Or it's $10.00 a day for the day and pay at self serve booth . You can reserve your sight on line which is more beneficial and you can only stay up to 10 days at a time .
Most certainly dogs are welcome. They have cabins for $88.00 a night and dogs are welcome to stay over as well.
I would imagine that they are as propane bbq are allowed. If you ask they will tell you just no open flame.
The one-year Discover Pass for $30 is a great bargain since it will actually encourage you to use state parks more. Three times and the annual pass is paid for. It's also good for a lot a boat ramps and trail heads all over the state.
You can probably do it on the Washington State Parks website. We reserve camping spots on the website.
