There is a beautiful trail to the beach thru the woods. There are stairs where it's steep... I've never driven, I've always taken the trail.

If you're fit enough to pitch a tent... it's a relatively easy walk. I run through there and have seen couples, with small children, walking it often.

It depends which way you go. If you drive it is no more than a mile, but there are trails through the park that would be roughly the same, pending which route you take. It's much more scenic along the trails.

If you have gear, definitely take your car to the lower lot (beach). Trails can get very slippery due to weather. Its a beautiful downward hike though... Only problem is coming back up!
