This target store is the worst I’ve ever been to. Generally have student needed items for inflated prices and that’s the only reason for a second star. Lack of other items, hard to access, incompetent employees, and unhelpful. Drive over to Olentangy River Road if you need Target to save yourself much trouble.

The Target on North High Street is generally pretty accessible. The front door is on sidewalk level, meaning there are no steps up into the store. The doors themselves are automatic, so the door will automatically open as you approach it. As you enter the store, there is one handicap Caroline's cart available to shoppers, however I did not see any motorized shopping cars available. The main entrance to the bulk of the store is up three stairs, which is not entirely accessible, however there is a ramp toward the far side of the store which handicap individuals could utilize instead. Unfortunately, if the line at the registers is long, this might be a bit of a hassle since the line tends to extend up the ramp. Additionally, some of the product is on pretty high shelves, so people with disabilities may need help reaching certain products. I have noticed that Targets tend to be extremely accessible businesses with very wide aisles and several accommodations, however since this Target location is quite small, the aisles are much narrower than other locations in the area.

The Target on High Street has a lot of accessible features. When entering Target, there are double doors that are automatic. They open as soon as you get close to them and this is great for someone who cannot open doors themselves or is in a wheelchair. This could also help someone who might have a visual impairment. When you walk into Target there are a few steps to get up to the main shopping area. On the right side of the store there is a ramp if someone cannot use the stairs. Having a ramp in a store is important so that everything is accessible. As you are shopping the aisles are very wide and the surface is very smooth. Some of the shelves in the aisles are high so it might be difficult for some people to reach. If there is pedestrian traffic in the aisles it might be harder for someone in a wheelchair to smoothly go through the aisles. I did not see any machines that read aloud products or where there are. This could be a feature to add for someone who is visually impaired. This location has self check out machines and regular. A person has to use the ramps in order to get to these but it is wide and not too steep. The self-check out machines are not too high and a buyer can ask for assistance on them as well. There are a lot of accessible features in this Target and allow everyone to shop there with ease.

The Target at North High Street is a great shopping location for Ohio State Students. This smaller Target location includes all of the college necessities including, groceries, clothing, entertainment, health/beauty, sporting goods, and miscellaneous household supplies. There also is an in-store CVS pharmacy and Starbucks! I typically frequent this Target every other week to pick up groceries. This target includes several great accessibility accommodations such as “Caroline’s Cart”, automatic doors, a ramp, Braille on signs, audio jacks at help centers, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Accessibility could be improved by increasing aisle width (in the chip aisle there is a large pole that may be difficult to pass for a person using a mobility device), lowering the height of the self-checkout screen, adding adult size changing stations to restrooms, and improving disability training among customer-facing staff. Overall, I love this Target! It is one of my favorite places to shop by campus because it has everything I need all in one place. Based on the website and physical store, I can tell that Target is actively working towards being accessible to all!

Call corporate. How should the public know?
There is no parking lot dedicated to Target (that I saw). There might be a strip of spots somewhere with signs saying Target Customer Parking, but I doubt it. There is a tiny parking lot with meters across the street on 16th. There are also meters on the side streets. There are public parking garages down high street. If you have transportation, you'll probably want to skip this location. Be aware they have a very limited selection.
