This museum is amazing. Parking was easy enough in the area. The James Bond vehicles currently on display was amazing. You have to visit the Vault to see all the cars not on display. For LA I expected a lot more movie vehicles but there is more then enough of every type of car to satisfy anyone who loves cars

Words can’t even describe how great the experience was!! As a car enthusiast, I cannot recommend this place more. Peterson Automotive Museum is well-known worldwide. You get to see the most exclusive cars around the world. Cars that were used in movie scenes, one of a kind hyper cars that are worth millions, classic cars that are preserved or restored to perfection, concept cars that were in car shows, and the list goes on and on… On top of general admission ticket ($19 for one adult), we also did the guided vault tour (for an additional $35), and let me tell you, it’s worth it!! I don’t wanna spoil it, so I’m not gonna show or tell you what’s there but man it’s cool. The guide is VERY knowledgeable, all the serious car guys that were in our group couldn’t even answer some of his questions. Might just be one of the coolest place I’ve ever visited!!

Tickets were about $17 per person. We spent about 1.5-2 hours here, going at a slower pace. There are 3 floors of cars to see. We really enjoyed ourselves! My favorite was the top floor, but everything was nice. There were even a few boats which was unexpected. There is also a pretty cool race car room that I surprisingly liked, as well. Whether you have an interest in cars or not, I think it’s something that everyone can enjoy!

What a fantastic place to check out while in LA! Maybe a bit more exciting if you’re a car enthusiast! The museum has countless of great cars from classic to supercars and vehicles of different uses. It showcases innovation on how cars developed from the early days to present. One of my favourite ones was the Bond in Motion, where they showcased a few of the vehicles that were used in a few of the James Bond movies. Overall a great attraction and worth it for their $17 admission!

Adults $15, Seniors & Students $12, Children $7, and under 3 years old & active duty military are free.
The vault is absolutly NOT a self guided tour. It is done by a team of trained professionals When we reopen it a a wonderful experience
Yes. We went for a couple of hours. Saw everything besides for the Vault.
As above as long as you are not in the vault you will be able to get great pictures
You would have to call and find out. I don't know the answer to that question.
It depends on your taste to see the cars, motorcycles and descriptions of the same, there are also cars - which came out in TV series, movies, very old, - and the cars that are in the museum are F1, monsters, modified cars. Your time as about 2 to 2.5 hours. You will not regret.
They do have a room where they have activities for kids...
16 to park and 16 per adult. Check their site for times.
16$ for the regular part of the museum and 23$ for the vault...39$ total for both
You may want to if you're wanting to tour the vault, I would just phone ahead to see how busy they are.
Took my son and he had a great time. Check out the design center where college kids work on their own designs.
You really don't want to miss the vault no matter what
The vault is their underground storage and maintenance area for cars in the collection that aren't on current display. Something like 4x as many cars as in the main display area.
Its covered parking concrete structure. The building was once a large Macy..Sears of some sorts with attached parking. 13 bucks which is fine to keep your car off the street. We elected to park in the structure made it easy.. No worries about feeding a meter
I don't think so
Limited public parking for the drive-ins often because of model focus ir prior registration BUT public walk-in no problem.
The answer is a bit late but maybe it will help others. The Petersen Museum is open on weekends, until 5:00 p.m. and as of May 2022, admission is $17 USD. And if you want to do The Vault, which is a whole level full of vehicles that aren't in the normal exhibit, that's an extra $25. Cheers
Please call or check online for the Holiday hours.
Service animals only. Make sure the service animal is COVID va¢¢inated.
Some are and others grt changed out
$21, with a $4 museum discount. Free of you spend $75 in the gift shop.
Buy your tickets once you get into the museum. Whatever they charge it's well worth it.
Yes, unless they sold the maximum alotted tickets for the day.
Not sure that an exact amount has ever been released. There are many prototypes, race cars, movie cars, and others that don't have a defined value. Probably in the hundreds of millions range for total collection.
I posted some yesterday from James Hetfield's collection.
The Petersen Motorsports Museum has a private collection of Mattel Hot Wheels memorabilia that they display.Check their website or social media to determine when. Hope that helps! Wayne S.
No for the vault it's separate but if you buy them together it's a better deal
They have two types of tours. 90 min and 2h. You can find the schedule on their website https://www.petersen.org/tickets there are also multiple tours during the day, so you can just go there whenever you want, because there is enough stuff to see even before the tour. I would also recommend going to the longer tour as there are really many cats to be seen.
Yes they are still there and please do the vault tour
Until May of next year
No, you don't have to :) you can get your tickets at the counter!
Yes don't think it would be a problem
Maybe in the Vault but we've not bin there. Also the first floor was closed so we didn't see what kind of cars were there. Before you buy a ticket ask if all floors are open, because you don't get discount.
Yes it was but save money and don't go there because you can see 2/3 of the building one floor is closed.
Should be fine as long as you keep things away from the car surfaces. As someone else mentioned, no photos in the vault.
I didn't see any dogs. But why would you take a dog to a car museum (no disrespect meant, just curious)?
With the exception of their guided tours, admission just lets you in to walk around the museum for however long you want to, so you're unlikely to run into a situation where they won't let you in due to capacity. The guided tours are the only activities that are time bound.
I believe he was leaving an event at the museum and was in traffic when the he was shot and killed.
That particular car is at the IMS museum. It's amazing what you can find with a Google search 😉
Thursday, January 17th, the Petersen will be offering a meet and greet opportunity with legendary IMSA drivers Jonathan Bomarito and Tommy Kendall.
Go for the longer vault tour -- it us worth it.
Closed
Sorry no info just go on line and check their website or call them 10am tp 6pm pacific time. When you do go make sure you take the VIP VAULT TOUR its absolutely magnificent and well worth the extra charge
Call to insure.. however if you are traveling just to see Christine you MUST allow time to do the VIP VAULT tour it will be a life long experience please do not miss it is that good
Full accessibility from ADA parking to every floor including vault. But it is B Y O wheel chair.
? You should call the museum... I don't know...
Yes, she is still there, part of the movie car display.
Limited parking is available on the street. There is also a parking garage attached to the museum.
Here's the URL: https://www.petersen.org
Yes you can. It's $13
It's where they store over 200 additional cars and it cost extra to tour.
Yes!
It is a very good place to visit, it costs around $ 42 per person with the vault tour. Recommended
Try somewhere in the Valley or Long Beach. All the hotels are super expensive in LA. Trust me, it will take you an hour to go anywhere in that traffic. We stayed in a B&B called Cinema Suites B&B on Fairfax that was within a five minute walk to the car museum, the art museum, and the La Brea Tar Pits. Very reasonable and a hidden treasure!
There is no set time, day, or week when it is being displayed. It is put on display when space allows because certain cars are moved around as well as leave the museum, and the space where the display would be featured may just remain unused for whatever reason. There is no way to know when it is brought out and displayed, according to the curator. Sorry, there is nothing definite.
It would depend heavily on the wording on the complementary ticket. You may want to consider calling the museum's front desk
No lines just plan on the vault tour as it's only offered at specific times
General admission is $16 USD, with the half hour vault tour another $20, and the full, 2 hour vault tour $30. Go all out. The full vault tour is the best party of the museum. They also have a terrific restaurant inside the museum. Pricey, but worth it.
Call them. Whether you pay or not, worth your time if you like autos thru the years. If you park there, it is $15.00.
Yes, pictures are allowed. When I went on a Sunday afternoon, there was lots of street parking in the neighborhood but there is also a garage which I believe has a fee but not sure how much.
Only closed for Thanksgiving and Xmas day
Special events can handle it the view is terrific
Yes, anybody can go in, general admission is $16.00. They also have Vault Tours (lower level section) for an additional $20.00.
I would give each floor about an hour. So 3hrs minimum. The onsite restaurant is a great place to eat and take a brake.
$ 13 ea
Call them directly, we don't work for Peterson, please put more thought into your question and ask yourself if your question should be even posted at all.....
Nope. There's a Model T and a Maserati you can sit in and take pictures.
no, but it's a good idea to call ahead & check to make sure that there isn't a special event of some kind going on.
I think the garage is $15, if you spend $65 in the gift shop it's validated.
First 30 are free. You can also see a few cool racecars in the lobby.
Talk to them, give them your name and form of payment, they can sure help, they're very consumer friendly.
If you're planning on reading everything about every car there. It would take over half if the day. If you're anything like me. You browse past most, and read only about the exhibits and cars you like. All I'd say a good 2 hours and 45 min for the vault tour which costs a bit more, but I would definitely do it!
Call them.
No pets
If you belong to the California Automobile Museum and you need to have their membership card you get in free, you might call them and find out if there is another other mu
General Admission is $16, kids $8, students $13. The Vault tour is extra.
I believe you can, but if you purchase the prieum tour(secret vult) you can't take water with you.
Nope. No food allowed. We didn't know and got caught. Had to immediately put it away or thrash it.
I am disable and I used my own wheelchair acces all levels. Desapointed I was expecting more diversity.
20$ additional for the guided tour of the vault. Pretty awesome and worth it.
You Need To Contact the Museum
No :)
He wasn't murder there he was there for a party and we he left there that's when he was murder
I did not see it when I was there 2 weeks ago
Lyft or Uber would be best since public transportation would take a long time via buses.
I parked on the street for free on Orange Grove, or two hour metered parking.
Parking becomes free when you make a decent purchase in the shop. Otherwise, all parking is $12 after the first 30 minutes and blue spaces are near the door. Eating in the restaurant wins you $4 off parking too. I saw no wheelchairs but in a place with so many wheels of so many kinds, it seems like a reasonable expectation that they could keep one or two for guest rental.
Off of Fairfax, just south of Wilshire Blvd
They're open today 6pm.
$15 adults, $12 Seniors and Students with ID, children $7, children under 3 Free, Active duty free. The vault which is well worth it costs an extra $20. (This is also all on their website if you need more information)
