A great first visit. Nice scenery and very peaceful. Lots of shady campgrounds, laundry and bathrooms. The Idyllwild town was nice as well.

Ranger is super friendly and gave me all the information I was looking. Provided me with all the passes and permits I would need and explained how the showers worked. $1 = 1 token and a token is a 5 minute shower. I stayed at Stone Creek but I would definitely consider staying here my next visit simply based on the amenities. Right by town as well. I first walked to it to ask for this information

Well developed campground within walking distance of the cute downtown area of Idyllwild (7 or so minute walk). The staff were all very friendly and the space was well maintained. The sites can be a bit small and fitting 2 cars on some of the spaces is a bit of a stretch. We had sites 11, 12 and 13. 12 had a ton of space for vehicles. Site 11 could just barely squeeze two small vehicles but had a good amount of space for camping. Site 13 was probably the smallest for both vehicles and camping. All 3 sites were an easy walking distance from the bathrooms without being too close either. It was also right on a road, so if you’re used to more nature focused, primitive style camping free of the sound of cars, this would not be it. The bathrooms were extremely well maintained, and another camper in our group said the showers were great. Each site had a fire ring, table, and a box for storing food overnight. The bugs in July were minimal, which was a nice change from other places we’ve camped at recently. They were also very on top of doing rounds (multiple times a day) while we were there to check that all vehicles are registered, which makes total sense; however, it almost felt a bit too frequent and uptight like we were consistently being watched for breaking some rule despite having paid and followed the rules. Speaking of rules, you also need to sign a checklist of rules upon check in. I’m sure there’s reasons they’ve had to resort to that, though. Most of the hikes we were interested in would require a drive. We’d definitely be back when we want good proximity to town without needing vehicles and some of the comforts not found at more under-developed campgrounds.

$25 without electricity in camp
No bodies of water unfortunately.
I believe you can camp with horses at Mc Call Memorial Park.
I was there 2 weeks ago and had good coverage on T-Mobile.
It will likely be below freezing at night. And they usually get some snow in the winter months. But hey, I've heard of people camping in tents in the Himalayas 💪.
What is ID11? There are several campgrounds in Idyllwyld, state one is right across from town, and county one about 1/4 mile from town. Both nice. Idk if there's any blm land nearby?
They have several water spigot around campground. I believe it's potable. The town is about 100 metres walk.
I would assume not. The tent only spots don't have space to park a vehicle and probably have barricades. The tent/vehicle spot I had, had barricades to allow a vehicle only in a certain spot. If the spot is tent only it might be blocked off. If it has wheels it needs a trailer/vehicle spot
They are both open but you need reservations they will not take walk-ins like they have in the past. If you give them a call they can let you know which campsites are open because online has different availability. Love it up there!
I saw 35 a night with electric only added
If you go on reserve California website it will tell you whichbsites have electric hook up, you can also restrict the results.
From what I saw, no. Might need to go to another campground if you want to be near a stream.
you can call and ask, there's usually someone there during the day. it's a big spot to park in, make sure you choose the RV option, i saw small RVs, like towable, and pretty large ones.
Presto logs are allowed also charcoal for grilling. Welcome to Idyllwild!!!
Used firepits last weekend.
I dont remember the number of the site yhat I was on. But t I can say it was in the fall and the place was about 75% empty, leaving a large option of were to set up camp. Going farther away from the the general store worked for me. I would in your case call on and check for tenting availability. I was in my Travel Trailer at the time
Either or is doable but to ensure you get a spot, reservations are best.
Yes it is
No swimming pool
Weve never taken a dog oursekves personally but we have seen several dogs there and walking on trails with their owners so im sure they dont mind or theres a lot of rule breakers out there . hopefully that helps
