We would like to tent camp in Idylwild. We'd like running water/toilets...shower is optional. We'd love to be in a place that feels private (not RVs with generators) Which campsite would you recommend? Near hiking. We are 2 adults.

I dont remember the number of the site yhat I was on. But t I can say it was in the fall and the place was about 75% empty, leaving a large option of were to set up camp. Going farther away from the the general store worked for me. I would in your case call on and check for tenting availability. I was in my Travel Trailer at the time

Idylwild campground since it has clean bathrooms with modern plumbing, sinks to wash your hands with soap and even has showers. Stone Creek campground is located in a remote area. Stone Creek's bathrooms are more like porta potty style toilets with no sinks to wash your hands.
