We brought Maggie home from there. She is such a good dog. She had some training from volunteers there. She loves to run and we have the yard for her. She plays well with other dogs. She protects us too. She seems to know who is good and who potentially is not, she stands her ground and quietly let's them know to keep their distance. She makes us laugh, we are ready to add another dog to our family. And we will go back here to get another dog.

I went to animal services today. Our kitty has been missing a month. They were extremely busy, it was neuter commuter day. Everyone was taking numbers, but I asked them if I had to wait in the long line to view the lost cats, they said no & a man came out & escorted me to the two cat rooms. He was very patient & kind & he did not rush me. Unfortunately my baby wasn't there but it gave me such peace of mind to see for myself. This was in sharp contrast with my experience of going to Marion county humane society yesterday. When I called, noone told me I couldn't view the pets myself, after I arrived, they told me I had to look at the book but not see the cats. No empathy there. They said this has always been their rule. I left there feeling even more grief stricken.

If some are washable, go ahead and wash and dry them to make them fresh smelling and healthier for the next pet. I have stood in line outside at the pound vaccination clinic and was able to give things away there for people with new pets. Sorry for your loss.
This delicate service is performed for a fee by a licensed professional.
Check their website. I just adopted the BEST little dog ever 2 weeks ago. I hope you are going to be adopting, and find the perfect forever pet for you :-)

Call first.
No.
No. I think you do that online but don't know where thou go oline.
Yes
Animals are adopt everyday which let new ones come in the shelter all the time. You will need to check daily. https://www.marioncountyfl.org/departments-agencies/departments-a-n/animal-services/adoptable-pets Also, don't make my mistake. My family feel in love with a beautiful treeing dog but we needed to clean up the house; so, my kids' toys don't get chew up. We came back and she was already adopted. Be ready to adopt your dog that very same day.
So happy to hear of microchip inquiries!! We have so many happy reunification stories all due to microchips; even a few involving out-of-state visitors!
You'll probably want to discuss surrendering with shelter staff. The facility now follows managed admission policies per a UF study through Maddie's Fund. The shelter also provides rescues and re-homing partners in their Pet education web page. Here's the link: www.marioncountyfl.org/animal
Call them Tuesday, they open at 10 a.m., or visit their Web page: www.marioncountyfl.org/animal Thank you for being a responsible pet owner!

No-kill status was achieved last month and the center is continuing to implement recent recommendations from an assessment by the University of Florida's veterinary medicine program. Please help find homes for these pets!
$99 Includes neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine and county tag.
As they are of a certain breed, I suggest reaching out to lab rescues. There are a few in central Florida. The rescues specialize in breed-specific placements and are your best resource for more than one pet at a time.
They kill animals do not take them there there is a ahrlkter offf of pine st
How much do it cost to adopt
They keep friendly healthy dogs and cats as long as they have space. I have to comment regarding the 2 week old kitten, she was convinced they would put down. As someone who has fostered 95 cats & kittens for them, I know they really try to find foster family to take them until they are 2 lb & ready for spaying/neutering.
Did you lose a cat or kitten @ Westport? Or was your cat picked up by animal control?
