Overall it's an Okay place to live. This year (2022) it has gone downhill fast! No more employees on site, the only option to communicate with the office is via email, unfortunately nobody ever replies! Amenities require an appointment to use, however the booking tool has no appointments available fit the next 2 years out. They sell you on the 'free amenities' but block you from using them. Since removing all employees, safety has become an issue. No employees, no security, and no response to emails from residents. I've had either residents or employees enter the gated parking garages and leave little 'gifts' on my car (scary, but not too bad) management has ignored emails. Random people attempting to enter my apartment using the 'smart' locks (Esplanade removed all keys from apartments, anybody can walk up to your door and enter codes initially the door unlocks. Management has ignored emails. There's nothing that residents can do to stop strangers from getting in to your apartment! One drunk neighbor managed to guess the right code and entered my apartment in the middle of the night (very scary to have random drunk person in your home!!!!) If I could get anybody in management to answer, I would ask how much to break my lease, so I con move somewhere safe! If you can afford to, go somewhere else! They only care about taking your money. Paying almost $3k for a 1BR and still have to live in fear is a joke!

I've lived here for 3 years, and have really enjoyed the experience. The staff are all very kind and helpful, and very responsive on the rare occasion I've needed help with my apartment--a week or so ago, my A/C fan started running and wouldn't cycle back off, and they had someone out to fix it the same day. (The staff also deserves a special shout-out for their ability to handle the large number of packages that come in December--I'm impressed every year!) The apartment was freshly renovated right before I moved in, the rent is reasonable for the Bay Area (and has gone up only a reasonable amount each year), and I love having secure, guaranteed parking and my own washer/dryer. As others have noted, the soundproofing is excellent--I'm particularly sensitive to noise, and haven't had any trouble when I'm home. (I did feel the lack of a coat closet at first, but that's what Ikea wardrobes are for--and the regular closet is quite spacious, despite not being a walk-in.) The mirrored doors on the closet and washer/dryer space are nice, and saved me from needing a full-length mirror. They recently increased the number of recycle bins in the trash area, which was a big help; it would be nice to have composting, too, eventually! And I don't have any pets myself, but I love dogs, and it's really nice to see so many dog owners in the complex. I'm happy living here, and don't foresee myself moving anytime soon!

This place really did have great potential! Good location and fairly new grounds. Although it would take MONTHS to get safety features fixed. The locked mail area was broken into multiple times. The solution for over a month was to go pick you mail up from the post office and wait nearly 30 minutes. When moving out beware, they will take nearly ALL of your deposit no matter how well you keep your apt running. The icing on the cake is the train crossing that’s feet away from the apartments that lays down the horn multiple times during the day and now in the evening.

Lived here for a year before buying. Great staff. Very friendly. Rent is a little high especially when in an older unit but they are renovating all units to more modern style. Numerous floorplans to choose from. Many units have a front and back door. Private, gated and assigned parking for 1 car, second is additonal cost with availablitly or a hard to find spot on streets. Only Complaints... Every place you live has problems, these are the facts you want to know. -2-level units have very steep stairs to master bedroom/loft. -You get quite a few disturbed individuals passing through at night via the main street in complex . -Buzzers/intercoms were not functional anywhere in the complex when we lived there -Dumpsters typically overflowing -Common stairwells have no ventilation and get quite hot in summer. -Smoke alarms can be heard all day and night throughout complex-there is no venting in kitchen or above stove. We always prepared for dinner by grabbing something to fan the smoke alarms and opening all the windows Regardless, I think living here was a good experience. It has a central location to all freeways, close to downtown, relatively quiet, dog friendly, and attentive staff.
