I went here with my 17 month old. I don't recommend coming here with a child that young but 4/5+ would have a fun time. There were lots of bigger kids running around and I was afraid she would get hurt if I let her out of the stroller. Although I did enjoy walking around learning things myself. One thing she did enjoy was the animals and the "sand pit"

This seems to be the best place to take kids in Ft. Lauderdale. The facility has so many hands on stations for kids to enjoy plus a 7D theater ride (Toy Ride) which my great nieces and nephews enjoyed. We all enjoyed watching the Wings Over Water 3D. The kids absolutely loved Design Build Play and the outside playground. They also have a Discovery Center for kids 6 and under that is very nice and has a variety of things to do. They also have a gift shop but the prices are somewhat high. There are items for kids under $15 that are decent. The staff members are also very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 12:30pm and it was very crowded. By 3pm the crowd thinned out. My suggestion is to go around 3:30pm to avoid the crowd. It was so peaceful and no line to ride etc. This is a place for kids to have loads of fun while learning. I highly recommend visiting if in the area.

Today was a very surprising impressive display of an array of exhibits at the museum. There's was a lot to learn if one cares to regarding several disciplines from science to biology and anatomy to ecology to geology to environmental science to weather to health to ocean science and much more. There were several hands on exhibits (not every single one worked properly). Very family friendly environment. There are assimilated rides. There is an outside park with activities for children. The highlight exhibit was dinosaurs in motion. Since the last time I visited this museum they have enhanced and updated several areas which made this experience very inviting. Live animal displays. Children's educational sessions at certain times. Of course the inclusion of the Imax movie opportunity certainly adds to the overall experience. This museum makes for a perfect outing for the whole family, young and old. They converted their Subway to an adequate concession stand for movie goers or a cafe experience for a light meal. Wheelchair accessibility. Elevators and escalators for those who choose not to use stairs. Hand sanitizing stations. This museum is a must visit. Prices reasonable for what there is to see and do.

This museum is lovely for children under twelve and over age one year old. This is a children's museum for children and their parents who are there to supervise them. I paid for my ticket online before the doors opened for visitors. The best experience was the weather/news caster exhibit, otter living exhibit, the movie theater I watched a documentary that was included in my entrance ticket and one or two other exhibits. I did not visit the cafe or gift shop on site. As an adult this was very underwhelming for me. There's several outdoor spots for families to have lunch. I decided to go across the street to the beautiful open park. I sat under the pillars near the water fountain display and that gave me some vitamin d and a wonderful view of boats on the lake, people walking by and beautiful sky. I saw the taxi boats that tourists can pay to ride to different locations and restaurants. I will try when I visit fort Lauderdale again. There were public statues to take pics at, water fountains and restrooms. I didn't get the name of the park but it is directly across the street from this museum and made a great place to eat lunch and think about my next place to visit.

Hi Becca, we will be opening Elements Cafe inside of our Museum this month! The cafe will serve all sorts of healthy food and beverages, including a Starbucks Coffee bar.
There is a lot directly across the street that has a daily limit. Everything else in the area is metered, I believe.
There will be things that he/she wont care about or be able to do, but I bet they would enjoy quite a bit of it.
Well we paid for a membership it was $100 something and we can go all year long for free and not wait in line
Adults 16 and children 13. If you buy now, the ticket is valid for 30 days, that is, you can enter the Museum twice (explain to me?) If there is a parking lot you must pay right in front of the Museum.
No, because exhibits rotate every 2-3 months. It will be placed in a different museum.
No
Unfortunately no.
Yes , it's fun! You should always stay kid at heart! Of course it's mainly for kids but there were a few things I didn't know - like a weird animal😀also even though most rides are closed due to covid, some are open and throw you back in childhood. Also you can walk Riverwalk and have fun afterwards in downtown;)
Yes. MOD is perfect for children. Two stories full of interactive things for your 4 year old to do.
There is also parking in front and parking is $ 7 on weekdays and $ 12 on weekends. I don't know the price for admission alone but there is a package for $ 58 for 4 parks, the Miami Zoo, the Museum, a Zafari and the Miami Seaquarium. You can go all summer until September 30 as many times as you want.
If you can carry it you can bring it. Some exhibits you may not be able to enter 2 out of 3 virtual reality coasters. Rest of the museum should be no problem.
It all depends on what you deem acceptable and also whats out
As far as I know only English.
And
No
Yes our 7d theater is open
I don't know, I was there for a job interview, start Monday, check their website
Hi Helena, thank you for contacting us! MODS is proud to be a member of the Bank of America Museums on Us®. This program allows Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank (U.S. Trust) credit or debit cardholders one free general admission during the first full weekend of every month. This program cannot be combined with other offers and excludes ticketed and special exhibitions and fundraising events.
Yes. Masks are mandatory. If you want to go to a museum that does not require facial coverings go to the science museum in palm beach that is located next to the zoo.
Yes. There right outside.
You can buy tickets there but it is much easier to buy them online because of all the safety protocols. Keep in mind that this museum is geared for younger kids and that it is best to go weekdays to avoid the weekend crowd especially upstairs where the lines for the virtual stimulators are very long. Have fun!
You can purchase online at mods.org/tickets or at the Museum Box Office when you arrive. The Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Search directly on the museum page

Hang with us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Thank you for your understanding, trust and support during these exceptional times.
Look up the ASTC passport program. I don't see that one on the list unless you meant "Arizona Science Center."
Hi Elizabeth. Expedition: Dinosaur opens on January 25th! More info here: https://mods.org/exhibits/traveling-exhibit/
The price varied from the things it included, such as an imax movie, depending on the day, it is also not optional to leave it out of the price or not. But as they said before, it is not expensive and the truth, if you are already there, it is worth the visit. I was happy, it was worth every dollar
$24 adult $22 senior $19 children (2yr+), $19 military during the week. On weekends, $19 adult, $18 senior, $16 child, $16 military.
$19 for each adult and $16 for kids 2-12, for the Museum. For IMAX theater is a different charge. Members go in for free and get discounts on theater.
There are tickets for each distinct activity. The entrance to the museum is unique and can be added to more activities.
Hi Reina, while we don't allow any outside food into the Museum unless for medical reasons, we have recently open our new Elements Cafe, local inside the IMAX lobby. The cafe offers a variety of grab and go items including sandwiches, wraps, salads, treats, coffee and more. We have both vegan and gluten free options as well.
If you have a Bank of America account, once a month you can go in free. Just the owner of the account
Hi Yuki, please call us at 954-467-6636 and ask to speak to Memberships. They will assist you.

No, unfortunately no outside food is permitted. But you can eat outside on the patio there are plenty of benches
You have to check their website, because they change. Also, there are different types of discounts.
It depends on how much time you will spend there if you are going with a kid. The museum is more for kids, but it has an Imax theatre, so you might like to watch a movie there.

No, they're not part of the ATSC passport program, and likely too close even if they were. Those agreements usually have distance requirements; the place you bought the passes from can't be within 60miles (+/-) of where you want to get in for free. The idea was to make science centers available to you for free when you travel. That way you have the opptunity to visit places you might not ever see again.
According to their website, it's adults $15, children $9, seniors $13. I paid $15 as adult
Garage directly across the street is $12 for the day. Not bad for downtown Fort Lauderdale. No free parking anywhere that wouldn't require a taxi/Uber to reach.
You can either park right next to museum on the west side. However it becomes quite expensive on weekends and during events. A cheaper option is about 2 blocks east, where there's is a public parking garage that is about 5 bucks per day.
$16 for adults, $13 for children 3- 12, children 2 and under are free.
It can be loud if there are lots of kids (hard surfaces and a two story interior). Call ahead to make sure there are no field trips scheduled when you go! I'm a lady and I had fun :)
