Not very happy with the Yakima Humane Society. My daughters cat has been sneezing since the day she got it home. Which was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Not only did she pay to adopt the cat she also had to pay a Vet bill because it has a upper respiratory infection and the ears had to be cleaned out because they were loaded with mites. Just a little angry.

Very disappointed with this place! My daughter had found a dog along side the freeway, so she stopped and picked it up in hopes she could take it to this shelter, she had to be at work at 11 and the place don't open till 10 so she asked a man sitting by the front door, asked him to see if he could give the dog to them he said yes as she was returning to her car some lady yelled at her told her she can't leave the dog there, the lady said take it back to the freeway and drop it off! She had my daughter in tears 😢 How 🤔 😭 inhumane that was! Tells me they don't really care about animals, so my daughter had taken the dog back where she found it and now she feels like if the dog gets ran over it's her fault! Bad, Bad place..

(6 April 2022 - 5 Stars) Our rescue dog (Ref) turns 1-year old next week. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. We feel so lucky to have him. Found out today that the county has turned over Dog Licensing to the Yakima Humane Society. Since Ref is turning one next week, we got his license today. The process was fast and easy.

I adopted Lorana on Halloween from here and it was such a great experience! We drove all the way from Portland to get her and it was worth the drive. I went to shelters where I live and had bad experiences but the staff here were wonderful and the adoption process was not complicated! Thank you to the whole staff, they were all friendly and knowledgeable!! (Lorana is doing great with her potty training and everything else so far) :)

It can be very upsetting to retun home and find out a care taker did not provide for an animal correctly. All animals that come into Yakima Humane Society with owner information (tags, microchip and/or paperwork) are held for 5 days while every attempt is made to reach said owner. In the event that a pet is not redemped by their owner after 5 days the animal is then placed up for adoption or transfer to an alternet rescue for adoption.
When a pet is surrendered to Yakima Humane Society they are immediately available for adoption. All adoptable pets are full vacinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
Dog walking hours are noon to 4:30pm.

The appropriate place to contact for that type of service would be a veterinarian. The wonderful folks at the Yakima Humane Society are going above and beyond around the clock, very busy people with all that they do. You should contact your veterinarian, there are a number of them around the Yakima valley area.
Hi Bradley, yes we do! For consistency, we ask for Science Diet brand. Thank you!
It depends on their capacity, whether they are strays or not. If they are not strays they won't take them.
They accept tame cats and kittens. Wild cats need to be spayed and neutered and rereleased. Think its $10 fee
I dont believe they sell them first off they adopt n they have to be old enough to be fixed
Yes check with the Humane Society as soon as possible and if you have a picture of your pet take it with you, they usually hold the pet for 30 days.
You have to go in person
If you have a picture of him you can email them the picture to their website. Don't forget to inform them of special markings.
Contact there office and they will tell you what to do, or what needs to be done.
You need to call them and find out
You need to be 18yrs or older.

Take it to Yakima Humane Society. If you can help out financially, donate some towards the dog's treatment.
Call animal control
Petco and Petsmart both sometimes have classes. I think there is dog obedience classes. Also look up Acme Canine center and Little Paws Playhouse LLC.
I would ask wa state patrol whatever agency they used will be where they are at where is mile marker is..... I looked at the mile marker there is a good chance they where takin to tricities since the accident would have been in Benton county
Yes
Very seldom do we get other animals donated..sometimes a rabbit or goat but that is unirdinary.. use pet shops
Yes it's fun but if it's too hot they like to keep them inside to be safe!
Cost of microchipping through the shelter is $25 only if your dog has been impounded, it is not a service available to the general public. You can also get the chip for $25 at the humane society spay and neuter clinic ONLY at time of spay or neuter surgery. They have vaccine and microchip clinics open to first come first served public at least twice a year also where the chip is only $15
Should be
They only euthanize if the animal is going to have a poor quality of life; horribly injured beyond repair, sick beyond treatment or aggressive beyond rehabilitation
As soon as kittens are weaned, about 7-8 weeks after birth
They mostly do volenteers there
I called them all ,with no help from any of them. I was even told " if i cant afforded the puppy, maybe i shouldgive it up."

No. If it is your lost dog, it is not required. Spay/neuter is only required on animals adopted from the shelter. Microchip and licence are required upon bailout
No appointment necessary.
Yes you can bring your dog for a "meet and greet". but your dog may spend time in your car when she is not needed
I find it very helpful to go to the shelter and look at the homeless animals when i want to see what the adoptable animals look like
No. Try the low cost vet on 6th ave by Davis
Nope. You have to pay a fee and prove you have a safe place for it. They want to make sure the pet goes to a lovely family. :)
I'm adopting a kitten. I paid $15 dls to put it on hold because it was skinny and was not ready to go home. I'm paying $60 dls when I pick it up. There are some questions to answer, if you have a place for it, where have you taken your animals to the vet, how many pets have you had and how long they last with you. What are you doing with it if you move and they don't accept pets at your new place. They need your drivers license number and will ask you how many members at your house. They also want to know if the pet is for you or a gift. I hope this gives you an idea.
Depends on if your house is on City limits or in county, county limit is 4 City i believe it's three there are breed restrictions within the city
Yes
Do you have any black lab puppies ?
