I've been to this installation multiple times and each time I try to imagine the history, I can almost feel it, amazing

Truly impressive to think about how this was built in this area during the time of its construction. Pictures do not due the size of this structure justice. If you ever have the chance to see it, definitely go!

My grandfather worked for the Lordes Const Co finishing up Hangar 1, after losing his career on the NYSE in the crash of1929. May 6 1937, my 16 yr old later to be mom watched the Hindenburg burn! She later, just a few years lol, married a NAVY PILOT. A heavier than air pilot(HTA) (airplanes)who BRAVELY volunteered for the lighter than air program (LTA)(blimps). An Ohio man, this took him to Lakehurst New Jersey. Lakehurst Naval Air Station! The German Uboats were decimating convoys up and down the Atlantic. It was the blimp squadrons that predominantly put a stop to it!!! My Mom and Dad 👍 She sold him a stamp at the PO. That was it!! Made their own Top Gun love affair. Way to go! Way to go!! I’ve failed to mention I possess a piece of the Hindenburg envelope!!!!!!!

I work on base and I don't think it's open to public. You could always pull in the front gate before the guard tower and walk into the little office and find out.
