Always have loved the scenic drive through the canyon- it's a nice place to get away from all the overdevelopment in Orange county and surrounding areas. A small pocket that's been preserved of what it would look like if there weren't track homes and traffic everywhere.

Very greenery and beautiful scenic drive with tall pine trees, easy to park and lot of hiking trails, you can further go towards north to Julian and grab a nice lunch. Many places to stop by and see the scenic view. Lot of biking trails too and you will reach 5777 ft. There is a gift shop and lodge.

What a great hike at Lake Morena! The weather was perfect! Not too hot... not too cold! The last picture is a bonus pic!

We stayed in the Blue Jay Campground which was great and I highly recommend. Easy enough to get to but the last mile is all uphill on a narrow one lane road with very few spots to pass. This are was green and had trees but most of the Cleveland National Forest does not. I enjoyed my stay in the area and considering how close it is to the big city I would recommend.

It's truly great for all ages. The older will love the beauty, peace and tranquility. While your two year old will love the amazing wonders just around the bend that they have never seen before! Enjoy
Due to fire danger target shooting hasn't been allowed in decades....AFAIK campfires also been eliminated due to fire danger.
Would depend upon what you want to be around
Yes there is a tent camping area, dog on leash allowed, but they say only on paved road, I guess they dont dogs running around disturbing wildlife
As far as I know it is open year-round. We were up there in March and got snowed in for a couple of nights. There are several campgrounds run by the Rangers, but we did free dispersed camping, so I'm not sure the cost of the campgrounds. You have to get a permit for the dispersed camping and they will tell you where you are allowed to camp. Of course there are no facilities and no campfires are allowed, but it was free and we had a blast. I would check with the ranger district on the cost of the actual Campground. It's very beautiful
What level of disability? The Meadow loop from mile marker 19 or the big laguna campground is relatively level, but sandy, so wheel chairs are probably out. There's also the old county road from mm 19 that is still mostly paved, but steep. Most of the hunters i see have to go cross country for deer, but i do see turkeys near the trails on fall. Bow hunting only.
Yes there are.
There are plenty of lodging options available including camp sites in the forest
Not sure.. usually you need a permit but for a while or still I don't know they were not doing any.. might be different now.best bet is to call the cleveland national park ranger
Temecula California
Pretty sure but would call Forrest ranger 2 make sure trabuco has a campground to right of trabuco store!!
You're saying its not there? No i don't want to go yet I just want to save it for next time so im where to gk
The following website should help with passes https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/cleveland/passes-permits If you have an Adventure Pass, you should be good for any parking and hiking that you want. There are a few exceptions but the general guideline is the adventure pass will get you in to any national park or forest. The adventure pass is also good for certain campsites if you're into that sort of thing as well. You can always call up the local ranger district and they should get back to you in a day or two about any particular questions that you might have. I have the access pass which is very similar to the adventure pass and I use it in Cleveland National Forest quite a bit. Hope this helps!
Depends on which part of the forest. Laguna Mountain campground and Lake Morena are pretty sweet on the southern end.
Not to my knowledge but I could be wrong.try looking up park services for more details
Dirt bikes...go see things others dream of!!
Yes you can, mule deer. I live there. Unfortunately they're very few and very very very hard to pattern and harvest. Also, almost impossible to get a tag for this zone. If you want a deer and know what you are doing go up North, Shasta Trinity Alps . If you want to Hunt Cleveland , hunt coyotes, way to many. They eat all the dogs and cats in Lake Elsinore and Wildomar. Many families will thank you.
Yes.. I use my all access pass as disabled veteran....I put in my window and never had a problem....and at gate entry way...like at some places at Palomar mountain.....grand canyon...Yosemite. etc
As long as you camp on the south side of the freeway...ur good...Do not trample the flowers...if you see a private property sign..take it seriously..it's your personal safety in question..do not mess with nature..it's not yours...it's all of ours.. show respect..1 love and enjoy ✌️
This isn't a park its considered a national forest your best bet is going to be contacting the forestry department for riderside county and ask. it use to be open to on hwy vehicles but they ended up blocking the path with a giant locking door and the only way to gain access is through the rangers.
Or..... is... it? Just remember to take your flashlight at night... and tinkle high register piano keys, they hate that, so says Peter Venkman
Why in the world is Google asking me to comment or answer questions. I haven't been near the Cleveland National Forest for decades. Please somebody stop these college educated knuckleheads before they ruin this country.
The "Indian" hotel is Veijas Casino and Hotel in Alpine. The outlets and skating rink are across the street from the hotel. Google Veijas Hotel and Casino for info and directions
