One of the best places you can go hiking in San Diego. The views are breathtaking and amazing. Going just before sun set will be the best. Make sure you bring plenty of water. And good shoes.

Excellent hike. Mild grade with wide trails perfect for novice hikers. It's about a 7.7miles round trip so it's still a substantial hike. Trails are well marked and easy to follow. The summit sits amongst several Telecom towers which detract from the experience.

Second trip up Mount Woodson Summit. From both directions..both have different purposes to me...SP at Poway Lake is longer distance hike, more challenging..more difficult. SP off the 67 is a paved shorter path, steeper, definitely a runners path....this path is less difficult, shorter...

4 mile hike front the back! Very worthwhile! Many scenic views! Easy to find ask the people around area everyone knows! Gorgeous mountain!

I don't remember a sign, but there are a lot of antennas! The potato chip rock is a little ways below the summit.

One access route is paved after the first 100 yds of dirt trail. The TH is off of Hwy 67. The trail is about 1 3/4 miles one way. It is also the steepest route.
