I wish I was sharp as I used to be, but I'm not. Perla was very helpful and very professional and helped me sort out confusion with my Medi-cal. I am grateful.

Absolutely a huge waste of time, we only made a trip in person because we were told we needed to to finish our SAR7 which they keep finding new things to find wrong with. We walked up to the window and the guy didn't listen to me in the slightest. I told him three times I was self employed and that we needed to sign an affidavit for my boyfriend in person because he was employed by an actual employer. We were assured twice over the phone that we could do this in person if we couldn't get ahold of the old employer (which we can't). We told him that we were told to come in person and her shrugged at me. He didn't listen to us in the slightest, it was noisy but we repeated ourselves by shouting several times only for him to cut us off and tell us completely irrelevant information. I told him that I have completed some of the steps he was telling me to complete only to be told I did it wrong and nothing was on file. The security guards were more helpful and kind than the people behind the glass.

The guy that answer the phone, was so rude!! No customer service skills, didnt let you finish asking question, answered with a bad attitude..best advice, "if you don't like your job resign"

I have been attempting to call for the past week and I’ve waited more than an hour and a half just to be told the system is working and to call back another time. I waited 47 minutes today and spoke to an “eligibility worker” who was entirely rude. She asked me to call back after I filled out some form which I have no idea about. I told her I had a case dispute number and she said “no there’s nothing showing here , you haven’t done nothing.” I asked her to please not hang up and help me and she said “I’ll just pass you to another case worker, I don’t see nothing” … and she put me back to hold to speak to another representative! I am outraged! This is horrible treatment. Lots of horrible workers. Shame on this woman.

Yes and No. If your question is will they put you immediately into some housing situation before the rest of the 50,000+ other unsheltered individuals, answer is no. HOWEVER, you have A ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME OPTION: THAP = Temporary Homeless Assistance Program, where you can get them to repay $60 per night of your cost to stay in hotel lodging, but you have to put the money up for the hotel and they will repay you the money on as cash on your EBT, and yes you can do it in a day if you get started early enough and you can make the two trips to the office. They will only do it once in your life, and only for 14 days, but certain circumstances will allow you to receive an additional 16 days for a total of thirty days. Most people will only qualify for the 14 day period. Inquiries about assistance available to those experiencing homelessness dial 2-1-1 for community resource advisor. Meanwhile.... start looking for a tent.
Need social security number for my benefits
I got my food stamps but not the cash that was supposed to be on my card
How can I pick up my EBT card with office
I work across the street, i did see some folks forming small lines there throughout the day from the outside of the building. I'm assuming that you can bases upon the traffic.
On the same day at the DPSS building or in the mail from the day of the application like 7=10 biisness days or on line...
Why my money is not on my card I did every thing on my end its they foult
Yes, you can apply for GR at this office
Go on www.dpss.lacounty.gov click on login... instead of clicking on yes login I have an account click on login and select no for account then it's going to ask you for your case number it's going to ask you for your date of birth and your ZIP code or cell phone number enter either of those then press continue in the corner of box will pop-up you press the x of that box accept the terms in the new box that opens and you should be all set to see your case and renew your case online
Go to county building and tell them at front desk, they will direct you. But you have to go in
DPSS is NOT publicly opened. All aid is done Online. If you have scheduled an appointment for DPSS 120th Street and Western Ave. you will be meeting your worker at the CLOSED FRONT GATE.
It varies. When I wasn’t working, I qualified for like 400 in food stamps and 500 in cash aid but when I was working, (still not making much), I qualified for only 65 in food stamps and 120 in cash aid. I was only making about 200-300 a month at work. Also, the welfare system is very careless. They just want to push keys on the computer and go home.
Actually I think you are able to get EBT CalFresh why don't you try again because I know someone that tried and they got it
I'm not sure but I think you can
When the compuer does it
I have no idea
FYI: I'm not sure if you meant to ask the public or the department, but your question posted publicly.
Determine eligibility for Calworks, Calfresh, and Medical
What pilot program about are you speaking about. And you can't receive GR and Calworks. If you are on GR and Pregnant , you can't apply for Calworks until your third trimester. Hopes, this helps.
You need the sar7 sheet basically answer all questions that apply too you and either mail it or drop it at the gr office I rather take it too the office it's more effective than mailing it in from experience
No
LA Housing Dept. would be able to assist you with low income housing. DPSS has a housing program but that is for GR recipients.
How did you apply and have you been answering your phone because we call you if you think it's spam and don't answer you miss your interview and case will be denied

Make sure you speak to someone before you go up there because I had the same issue at the beginning of this month and it was a nightmare speak to someone on the phone before going up there or as Kiki said they will mail you one but speak to someone first.
Call in it's all over the phone now due to the covid and when you call them tell them that you want to have your card to be picked up at the building you filled out the application at to get your welfare or gr food stamps whatever
In the valley I picked mine up from my local DPSS office in Chatsworth; I'm pretty sure it's the same for the other locations as well.
Contact IHSS In Home Supportive Service in your area.
Phone appointments only
Phone appointments are available. The public isn't allowed in the building yet
Call ur worker for a phone appointment. You can also call the number on the back of your card to access your worker
Ummm, you can't
You can't. They're gonna reissue a new one, completely new numbers
No id no paper work submission
I believe so by appointment only at the front entrance it's usually a desktop with forms and a person will come out of the building to assist people.
Yes
You can speak with someone at the Healthcare Options desk in the 2nd floor today change your providers foe medical or dental.
You will probably need to call the main number first.
You could have got your card the same day you apply for your food stamps
I believe this can be done by phone...If not you'll have to go down to the office.
Qr7 are due between the 1st and the 5th of the month following the report month. Depending how late you turned it in you may still be able to fix it. If you received GR in November you have until the third Thursday of December to fix it. For future reference you can call the call center 3-5 business days later to follow up or download the app: your benefits now and update your qr7 via the app. Uploading and submitting documents via the app. is better because it also serves as a receipt.
Go to the office and let them know
No
What is it

It really depends. Not all income is the same. 2000 a month is more to a single person, than to a family of 5. Go in and apply. 2nd floor, for stamps only
No
Yes, if your SAR7 or QR7 wasn’t filled out, they will cancel. All you need to do is go to the county and let them know you need to fill out a sar 7. There’s a special line for that and it’s never crowded
I don't know, you would have to look it up online
Yes there is a pilot program for homeless
