They need new life guards. Im sorry, but life guard's need to worry more about the lives they are supposed to be watching instead of people already following the rules that aren't even near the water. While they hanging out with all his little friends. Super rude for no reason. Maybe the sun got to them.

We love it here! It's disappointing that we can't bring our out-of-town friends, and I also wish the swimming hours started earlier (hours are 12-7). But we love seeing our neighbors/community friends and jumping off the dock. The staff members are friendly and the beach is kept clean. Def a favorite in town!

After a good stretch of cold weather this place is always a good choice! 👍

It is well located, and free! The place is clean, it has a playground, a basketball, and a sand volleyball court. There are 3 lifeguards rotating to make sure we are safe, they separate the swimming area in two: the shallow area for small kids, and a more deep area for adults, kids are encouraged to be with a adults, or use floating vest when in the deep area. My family, and I love to go there. Thank you city of Ayer and the attentive lifeguards!

Yes, that's been a bad trend nationwide for many years. Not just New England. And the area you are 'allowed' to swim is so tiny, too
Ayer residents are still free, but you only pay when there is a gatekeeper there, which only appears to be during the busier days/times of the summer
