I came in just browsing for a cat and a staff member named Jocelyn was the most welcoming and nicest employee I encountered. She was polite and very helpful with me. If anyone walks into this place I recommend talking to her about the animals for adoption. And this shelter is very clean and the animals seem in good health. Absolutely love it here. Might even consider adopting for real now.

Bad Customer service . Called 3 times and left a message to adopt a dog . They never picked up and called me back. Then I sent a email to come see the dog and adopt it . They email back telling me to call to Set up a appointment. So I called and they didn't pick up again. I left a message and they never called back with any info. I wanted to get a dog form a Shelter , but I am just going to buy a Breeder dog now.

Honestly surprised to see some horrible reviews for this shelter, since we had such an incredible experience! My husband and I were looking to adopt a dog and had several bad experiences when reaching out to other shelters both nearby and far. We stumbled across Upland Animal shelter and took a risk - jumped in the car to make the drive from Santa Barbara with no appointment, and no high hopes. We were pleasantly surprised as the adoption team was SO kind and immediately let us walk-in to view the pup we had our eyes on. The facility was clean, large, and a lot different from the other shelters we had visited. The volunteers were super helpful and even let us browse the other pups, just to see if we were interested in any other dogs. We were also able to do a meet and greet on the spot, and right away, we knew our pup was the one! After talking to the volunteers (we later learned was the interview process), filling out some paperwork, we were able to take our pup home the same day. Even after coming home, Upland Animal Shelter was incredibly helpful with our additional questions, and they even gave us a ton of coupons and guides on how to navigate a new puppy. Thank you Upland Animal Shelter, we are so happy to have little Kona in our lives!

Do you have a special price for senior citizens?
Saturday Vaccine Clinic by Pet Crusade 12:30-2:30 No Appointment needed. Any resident from any city Rabies is $8. Pet Vaccine packages start at $29
I know the shelter loves to have volunteers, but please call them to see if there are any age restrictions.
They do have pricing on adoptions, sometimes a certain animal is sponsored so it's pricing is lower. You should stop by and take a look. They always have a good group of dogs and the staff is helpful.
I am not really sure of how much the puppies cost in this facility, but I recommend that you come to the shelter directly, call them or go to their website for more information. In reality they never charge for the animals themselves only for the services, such as the microchipping, licensing, vaccination, and sterilization.
We have volunteer opportunities for ages 16 and older. The first step is to complete the volunteer application and then sign up for an orientation. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks based on their interests including walking dogs, help cleaning, socializing cats/kittens, special events and more.
Do you still have that bunny?
If the kittens are located in the City of Upland, you can contact the Animal Control department at 909-931-4185 option 2 or 3 to discuss options.
Try calling these places? Some may not check this often. Try also calling San Dimas Grain
yes, I believe i've seen some there, but call first...please..
Hi Nickette, I adopted my kids from shelter and used to take them to visit my own Vet. I don't like to buy my furry kids from breeder as I believe the dogs and cats in the shelter they deserve to have people love.
There is a no kill shelter in Ontario on mission that duz loe cost on certain days. I believe it's called mission no kill animal shelter.
There are kittens still available for adoption. You can view all of the animals at the shelter at www.petharbor.com. Thanks,
I don't know the cost, but it is worth all the love you get.
$160 includes spay/neuter, microchip & vet check up I believe.
Yes
I believe it a no kill shelter
What city are you seeing the stray cats in? That will determine whether we could take them or not. You can call the shelter directly at 909-931-4185 option 4 between 11 AM and 4 PM to speak with a staff member.
Animal Control should be available most days between 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Since the shelter public hours aren't until 12 noon to 3 PM, I recommend you call Animal Control at 909-931-4185 option 3 before showing up at the shelter. Otherwise, you could stand at the front door without someone being at the front counter to open the door.
Contact the city. The shelter is not able to enforce nor is it authorized to enforce city ordinances.
At this time, Friends of Upland Animal Shelter does not have a veterinarian on staff so we are not able to perform spay/neuter services for the public. You can call the shelter directly at 909-931-4185 option 4 between 11 AM and 4 PM to speak with a staff member who can provide some local options for you.
Yup you just sign some surrender paperwork.
Call your county animal shelter and ask if they have him there
Yes.. I saw them do it..they need to be well behaved though.
Im sure there always i need of blankets and toys
It might make more sense to call them directly
I believe we had a maltese come in yesterday and it was already reclaimed by its owner. If you are still missing a pet, please be sure to look at PetHarbor for animals at Upland Animal Shelter. Dogs can be found here: https://bit.ly/3a4SXPA Cats can be found here: https://bit.ly/2x2QiqR. These PetHarbor pages are updated automatically every 15 minutes.
We do offer fostering and the first step is to fill out the foster application. You can get that either at the shelter or online at www.friendsofuplandanimalshelter.org under the fostering link. We don't have any large events planned currently but do have smaller adoption events at local PetCo's, Pet Smart's and other Pet Businesses each month. The lists of events is available on our website.
Check their website to see who they have that needs a home..
Check web page, they might...
$100-$150 Edit I guess go off their answer? Although the answer they added on here seems different than what is online.
Hello, we do take owner surrenders based on a variety of criteria including if we have space available. All animals are required to be up to date on their vaccinations and there is an owner surrender fee that differs based on if the animal is already spayed/neutered. Please contact the shelter directly to discuss your unique situation.
Hello, Return to Owners of lost dogs is done by The City of Upland's Animal Control Department, not Friends of Upland Animal Shelter. Friends is the adoption organization at the shelter. The City's Animal Control Officers handle the process of getting lost dogs back to their owners. I do know the fees change based on how long the dog has been at the shelter as well as if the dog is spayed/neutered. If you have a complaint with their process they work for the Police Department and you can call their non-emergency number to speak to the supervisor to complain.
We do often have rabbits. It's always a good idea to call the shelter during business hours to confirm if we have any when you are considering coming by to look.
Puppies come and go pretty quickly. You need to check it out for yourself.
I can answer that for you tomarrow when my staff and clients volunteer
Hello, We always need more bottle feeders and fosters. Right now we are lucky enough to have all our underage animals in foster care but that changes daily. The link to the foster application is on our website or I can email it to you if you prefer. Thanks!

Hello, The dots serve several purposes. First they match volunteers with the group of dogs they are able to walk. The dots are also an indicator of how easy a dog is to get out of the kennel, leash and walk. Some dogs are green meaning anyone at level green or above can interact with them. Some dogs are yellow or blue indicating they need a more experienced handler. Thanks,
I already caught it I just want them to pick up today
You must be 16 with parental permission
I do not know, call them.
Yes
Hello, Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer at the Animal Shelter. Thank you,
Call them and tell them. Perhaps the owner already called looking. Huskies are notorious for getting out.
I called them they do for $175
Hello, at times we do have birds available but right now we do not have any birds for adoption.
Kitten vaccine package at Saturday Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic is $43 for FVRCP, FELV and Deworming for roundworms.
Hello, There are times we cannot come to the phone because we are caring for the animals however you should be able to leave a message. Thank you for letting us know the answering service isn't working so we can contact information technology to trouble shoot and fix it.
Go to petharbor.com, select the Shelter whose inventory you want to view, follow directions on the site. Easy, simple.
What breed are they? I'm looking for a dog. And what price may I ask?
Yes. I believe it is $50.
I'm sure they would if they have room.
Yes. Take them to the shelter if you can.
I think it's best if you call ahead to find out the age requirements.
I am sure your puppy love is waiting for you🐕🐩🐶
It is an easy place to place animals.
Not for shot clinic on Saturday, but I think it closes about 2 PM
You should try to keep him secure....inside or a crate & call animal control. Use food to get him close to you if you can Vania.
Become a volunteer!!! Before my baby was born I used to volunteer at 3 different shelters through out the week . the dogs need to be walked and to interact with humans! The cats need play time n litter changing! Its fun and great for the animals. Even if you just go for 30 minutes whenever you can... That a big deal for a lonely dog in a cell all day!
Yes you can
Yes, I'm not sure if they are pure breds but as of yesterday there was at least 2
Friends of Upland Animal Shelter operates with a “no kill” philosophy, dedicated to finding every adoptable animal a loving home. Friends contracts with the City of Upland to maintain the municipal shelter and care for the city's animals. The shelter also cares for sick and aggressive animals that are not always adoptable, and some of these do not make it out of the shelter, so we generally refer to the shelter as “low kill”. The shelter achieves live release rates between 80-90% for all animals (including sick and aggressive that don’t make it). Friends and City Animal Control evaluates all animals that come into the shelter to provide the best, most humane outcome for each. Found (stray) animals found in Upland can be turned in at the Upland Animal Shelter. Animals found in other cities/communities need to be taken to the shelter responsible for the City in which they were found so that owners who may be looking for them have a chance to find them at their local shelter.
They take all breeds
Yes, we do, depending on the circumstances. If they are your kittens, this is considered an "owner surrender" and there are fees for surrendering your animal(s) at Upland Animal Shelter. If they are stray animals you found, then Upland Animal Shelter typically only accepts them if they were found within the City of Upland boundaries. Animals found outside the City of Upland should be taken to the shelter that serves the community where they were found, so that possible owners of those animals have a chance to come find them at their local shelter. Friends of Upland Animal Shelter does also transfer animals that are available for adoption from other local shelters when space is available.
I'm very happy with the dog I rescued from Upland Animal Shelter. Wish I can adopt more.
It is called spayed for females. I got mine at friends of animal shelter. Low cost
