One of the best experiences I've ever had visiting a government office. Got my official birth certificate in less than 20 minutes. Literally, there wasn't even a wait time. Got in early by 9 or 10 am 2 weeks ago, and there wasn't a line. They are actually really nice in the office too. Someone approached me directly when they noticed I was confused and offered assistance -- I've never had that happen before. This office is top-notch. Fast, efficient, and courteous. I wish all dmv, passport, and US postal office places operated in the same fashion.

Went in at 8AM on a Tuesday to get a certified copy of my birth certificate and was out in about 15 minutes. The check in process was quick and easy and I was helped within a few minutes. It was simple and efficient. They suggest filling out the online application for records as that speeds things up a bit; however, they also have many computers there to fill out the application.

This is truly the first time I give a 5 star review to a government service. I came to obtain birth certificates for my children. I was greeted at the entrance and directed to fill out a form at the computer station. Then I was asked to sit and I barely had time to sit down when I was called to the window. I received the certificates within 2 min. Awesome experience!

Can i get a certified copy of birth here or do i need to go to LA? I was born in 1954
Yes but there is a fee.
Are you referring to getting a marriage license? Or have you already gotten married? If not married, you need to make an appointment to get the marriage license, which you must do online. If you're married, have returned your signed marriage license to the County Registrar, and it's been more than 10 days since you returned your signed license, then go online, complete the form for a Marriage Certificate and either mail it to the County Registrar w/$15 or walk it in, pay $15 for each Marriage Certificate you'd like.
On the OC Recorder page it says the ID is for the one that is purchasing the birth Certificate. Not for the person on the certificate. A valid government-issued photo identification (I.D. must be for the individual purchasing the record.)We do not accept expired identification. However since you are buying the certificate for someone else you may need the sworn affidavit of being an authorized person or prove you relationship to the individual. You can find what you need here https://www.ochealthinfo.com/phs/about/epidasmt/bd/cert_copies
You go online to request it and then when you go in, you'll need your ID as well as payment. Your request is good for 30 days

I got married in Chicago Illinois, is it possible to get a copy of my marriage certificate here in Orange County?
Either one, the P.O Box is sufficient, If your sending fed ex or ups then you need to use the street address. Hope this helps
You can find everything you need at the Hall of Records that is if it has been recorded. Everything is on Microfilm and Tapes. They have a machine and review them. It helps if you know what your looking for. If it is property that you looking for information on. You can also ask a realtor they have an amazine log of recoreds that are seperate from the Hall of Records. It all depends on what it is that your looking for. There are several ways, but the easiest way is to go on line look up the address or the owners name on line. You can order copies on line and view them immediately. Otherwise you can go to the office in Santa Ana, and fill out the form with the document number that you want a copy of. You can also view the copies no charge on line. It is easier to go to the office to view them, but if you dont want to deal with that you can go on line and look everything up. Remember that the online search is limited to 3 years per search.
