I am so Thankful that we have a place like the animal shelter to help all of the stray animals out there. I like to donate old pillows, towels and blankets in Pomona. I know it helps the pets that come in to help them feel comfortable.

Had an unfortunate experience there today. I was very disappointed that I checked the website before coming and had already chose a dog I liked. They refused to let me see the dogs until 1:30, apparently they said they were cleaning up the area and now was not a good time. It says on the website that you can come anytime. AND they charge $105, not free as posted on the website. They did reluctantly bring out one dog for me to look at but he was scared to death, shaking. Made me sad and mad. I'm sure they are doing what is best for the animals but their website is misleading because they do charge you! I wasted time, effort and money to go there just to be denied and tried to charge me for a dog. Poor doggies!

I rescued a brown and white chihuahua that was 2 yrs. old. I’ve had him for about 5 years. Great selection of animals. Great customer service. I’m happy with my experience adopting a dog. They take good care of the animals. They give them a bath often and their kennels are clean. It’s a safe place for animals to stay while waiting for adoption. I love animals and highly recommend this shelter!

I adopted my dog here from the Inland humane society. Yes, I admit that they’re sometimes hard to reach because they’re understaffed. From my visit to this shelter, I feel as if they are trying their hardest to get these dogs adopted. Their adoption fees are so low as an incentive for adoption and it seems like they are really trying to find these dogs homes. Adopting Benji has changed my life for the better! He is the best thing that happened to us and we have the Inland Humane society to thank you for.

You can at least call them to report that this poor pet is wondering around your house! You know?! Or better yet you can adopt him/her! Perhaps you can help save someone from being euthanized! Have some compassion don't just think about yourself because tomorrow you might be the helpless one and others might view you as a nuisance!
I honestly have no answers to all your questions. I have only had one issue with them in the past and it was resolved in a couple of weeks. I wish you luck in getting your fur baby back soon.
Good for you that you and any animals you are attached to were treated well. That was not the case for me, or my dear cat. I have an exceptionally low opinion of this outfit and the staff employed there based on my very real, very poor treatment.
You can also contact a local rescue if you can figure out the breed. Try going onto FB groups in your community and the nextdoor app. There's a lot of help. Take photos and take them to PD. They don't do animal crime but may be able to guide you. I would def go down with photos and video. Code enforcement also deals with excessive barking
Typically it's to follow up on the matter if need be. That being said, make one up if you need too
What kind of puppies
Oh course and you should immediately! Thank you for your concern.
I can't answer that. They are not my people. I'm a surgical technician. I volunteer for veterinary surgeons to help keep costs down. Emergency services
Not in LA county. But different counties have different rules. So it depends on where your property is. Sorry for the loss. You can usually bring your deceased pets to your vet or shelter and they will dispose for a fee.
Cats don't require to be licensed and cats are hard to keep indoors. You have to be diligent with them. I feel bad as there are so many cats in the humane society that just want a forever home. I have a Cousin that designates her time to getting feral cats off the streets, she has them fixed and finds homes for them. Euthenizing them is not the answer.
They're not encouraging you to drop off your pets here or anywhere, vaccinated or not. If you don't want or can't keep your pet, then you should try to find a new home for it. Contact some rescue groups to see if one can take him in. Pls do Not leave your pets at any kill shelter. This is a kill shelter
About 15yrs ago my dog got impounded they charged me $25 not sure how much it is now
Yes, Mon thru Saturday from 1:30- 3:30 Wednesday 3:30-5:30 Get there early. Limited parking and lines are a long wait to see potential pets because they only let one-2 families at a time.

Yes they can always use donations such as blankets sheets bedding towels. Etc.
You can have the animal put down for a small fee.Or you can say you fiubd the animal and pay 0.If you love your animal but cant aford cost that would be the thing to do. Maybe donate what you could to at least show good faith. Or just call the SPCA for actual cost.
Yes you can drop off anytime they are open. You can also call them to pick up.
If they were nice to the people in front of you, maybe it was you who gave them attitude? I have always had good experiences here.
I think they should transfer any dog that has been ther for a long time to a rescue shelter or some place else other than killing them its not their fault they were abandoned or born they should get a second chance at life dogs have feelings and personalities too.
Please be responsible when adopting an animal for your kids, make sure they know how to handle a small dog like a Chihuahua. Thank you!! ^^ New dogs come in everyday so check back in soon :)
You should get checked for rabies, and call I.V.H.S ,AND they will inform you how to go about adoption
Unfortunately, they don't. In the past (long time ago),they have had to remove pets, fish included (tropical, freshwater fish) from a home that was inadequate for said pets. May I ask, is it that you're looking to rescue fish instead of purchasing them? If so, God bless you!
Call the humane office. They will investigate. There are ordinances against allowing dogs to bark
What do you mean "seal" Hamsters?what do you mean "Yes go ahead about it" ?
I did call the shelter they didnt give me any rescues to call just said the dog is still available
Not sure but call or visit their website for details. Adopt a pet n save a life!
The prices vary by age of the pet and type. Cats have the cheapest fees. Puppy's are the most, adult dogs and then senior dogs are the cheapest. They come with all shots, spay/neuter, microchip and a health screening. This is a kill shelter, you could be saving a life.
Check out the Sam Simon Foundation based out of the LA area. They do provide 'free' services for those in need BUT you must submit a request and qualify. Overall, truly a great program! http://samsimonfoundation.com
They automatically scan for a chip. The fees depend on whether he has been licensed before
Depending how much time has elapsed! And you must prove the animal has all it's current vaccinations. Take pictures you have of your pet and your proof of vaccination 👌
Um excuse me?it's called neutering.
I don't think Ontario. You can call and ask but, Ontario has their own Humane Society TNR program.
They never answer. The only way I get through to anyone is if I select the option for this is an emergency. Ive called while standing right there and watched them not helping anyone, on their own phone and just ignoring the work phone
Yes planning to call but have read a lot of reviews on here saying they wont answer the phone and hang up on you
They have that service. I would call first.
Call the city
Depends... on the health of the kitty, they also have discounts due to economicsCall them and ask.
At their last fundraiser, they reported not having to kill any animals in the last 18 months due to abandonment issues. The animals were all adopted or transferred to other no kill adoption groups to be adopted out. It's best to take the animal to the humane society since that's going to be the first place the owner will look. Plus they're going to scan the dog for a chip to see if they can locate the owner and notify they have the animal. However, if the tags aren't up to date, there will be a heavy fee to get them out. The late fee is 1.5 x the registration fee plus the registration fee, per year. So make sure your dogs are registered on time. While I don't know for sure, I'm guessing there are other fees for a found dog, in addition to getting a dog registration up to date.
It changes from time to time. Since we are about to change years, fees may increase, (prompting your decision to adopt Sumer sooner) However, I think it's Feb. when a dog food company sponsors a "free" adoption fee day...around Valentine's Day...(which would push off the date of adoption.) In any case...call and be prepared to briefly and clearly ask them what's up. Expect to wait on that phone...on hold forever! Expect it...and picture a long line of people standing in front of her...trying to process the frustration coming at her because...IT TAKES TIME FOLKS...and we don't like to wait. P.S. Nothing's more worth whatever fees or money you will ever lay out. Nothing! The return on your money is not measurable. Many food banks provide free dog food to defray the cost of upkeep after you adopt. Blessings to you and your lucky new pet.
This place will not give her a chance either. In my experience with them they are not v compassionate. See if you can can locate a foster organization near you. There are other outings than the Humane Society, which has tragically grown so big they've lost their sympathy.
No. You have to go to the shelter and meet with the dog. Fill out an application. Unless you work with a rescue.
Yes, if they are not adopted or claimed within a certain time frame. They are given a longer time frame if they are friendly/tame.
That is their record, I get the same. Say "not a bill" at least mine do.
Yes. But you may be charged a small fee. I had a similar experience with an older beagle dog I owned.
Dogs especially are required to be licensed. It's a ticket if they are not licensed.
Afraid you will have to endure the hold and call.
Yes. Check the website for more information.
Well, you can call the animal shelter and they will provide help.
Almost positive that’s a yes but you should call and check.
It could possibly mean they have been spaded or neutered
They offer lots of foster. I know we personally have fostered a few strays and then they were adopted out
Take them here
No walk ins
If u contact inland valley Humane society I'm pretty sure someone there can set up a date for you to come and get your cat spade for free I highly recommend them
Yes absolutely
No. We had one done and picked her up 4 hours later.
You just go to the hospital and voila ✅
Currently you can't walk in to the office. But you can park in the parking lot and call the office to help you. I just went on Saturday
They probably have you confused with someone else. I would just get in touch with them and let them know that you don't have a pet.
Yes they do. Very easy stay in your car drop-off. Steps 1. Park in numered parking spot 2. Call number on numbered parking spot sign and notify type of Animal turning in, size and how many. 3. Wait for staff to come out to process the Animal's in question. 4. Staff will ask you to sign a paper for each Animal.
If you call the number on the website, you can make arrangements. If you show up with a dog, 50/50 that someone there will take it.
Not sure with COVID but you would go in and request the dog. If there are others who want it then you go into the raffle. You show up on the day of and they pick the numbers. I got my dog that way. There was another person in front of me so two drawings and they pulled my name on the first chance. Call and check how the raffle works. Make sure you take an ID.
Just adopted one and very happy
Covid. It's open for adoption you just need to make an appointment.
Absolutely
Normally, but I think you have to call ahead now due to Covid. For example, when I took my cat to be fixed we weren't allowed inside. A worker came to the car to pick him up and drop him off.
Yes
Yes, most likely they will accept it. However, I would call ahead and ask them just to be sure.
i would confront them and ask them why ,how come without notice???or ask if she got adopted or relocated...good luck hope the pet is ok
what shelter
According to their website: "Prices for available vaccines are: Rabies $10 Dogs 4 months and older, $10 cats 4 months and older 6-in-1 (DHLPP) $15 Dogs 8 weeks and older Bordetella $15 Dogs 8 weeks and older 4-in-1 (FVRCP) $18 Cats 8 weeks and older Cash, credit and checks will be accepted as payment for ..." We purchase puppy packages through our vet.
Yes They are closed to the public, but there are employees on grounds you will have to call and leave a message with a live Rep,and the Rep will relay the message.
I've never had a problem..But I paid cash. .But some business are just that way..sorry for your inconvience
It cost me $40 per cat, male or female, so it may be the same for dogs. They can tell you over the phone.
I'm very sorry I didn't I didn't know there was an event there been very busy......
I've never had that problem, so maybe they're just extremely busy.
I see people in 'volunteer' shirts when I'm there, so I think so.
The site says $40 for spay or neuter but requires purchase of the $40 Microchip as well
Always they will be happy to get the donation
They will tell you who can help you
You first need to get a rabbi's certificate. Take it to humane office and pay the fees
Its obvious what has to be done .Load a shotgun and shoot the neighbors. Then call the aspca
I think most shelters need volunteers to be atleast 18 yersold
They are correct. You choose a kitten. Then he will visit the kitten to see if it fits with his family. They will fix your kitten and take it home after paying.
I don't have ideas about online license
I believe you need to turn in the cat to see if owner comes looking for it. After the required days it would then be available for adoption.
Yes they do. I just left some last week. Make sure you take a State I.D. with a current address, or take a utility bill (i.e. gas, light, cable bill.) with you.
Slow to respond but they will
The staff there is very understanding and I'm sure they will help you come to the best decision for your situation. They also have contact information for many rescue organizations.
Hopefully they survive the night. But mom's probably looking for them. That happened to me a few years back. Mom was moving them and we thought somebody abandoned them because people have done that a few times at my house. Poor things. Good luck. Happy people care.
I asked them what brand and they use Iams brand for the food
It's 7-10days
Depends on the weight, small dogs about 150 and large dog about 300.
I don't know for sure but i do know Ontario spay and neuter does ..ill check..
Just call them and ask :)
You can volunteer there if you want to get experience to work with animals later.
Some places charge extra to be with them so call around
Not all the times, it depends what was rescued
No idea, you have to call them.
That is interesting as I have never seen them when I was there.
Unfortunately, there are no veterinarians for free and they are expensive for what you say your puppy is serious you will have to take it to dog emergency and pay little by little. I'm sorry about your puppy hopefully I saved
Florida THUG Diquan O Hall 'acquited' of cruelty to innocent, lovable pets - This EVIL Cretin needs to be beaten mercilessly !! https://www.the-review.com/news/20190314/stark-humane-society-worker-acquitted-of-dog-cruelty
They probably haven't updated their system. But are you absolutely sure that it is due next month....just check your records because there may be a mix up... Your best bet is to speak to someone because before you know it, you will have a late charge and a headache.
Check the website for dates. Usually one day is to fix males and another for females.
It depends the city you live in and how old is the pet. If it's an older pet with proof of an old license they might try and charge you a penalty. You only get discounted if the dog is spayed or neutered
They have different adoption fees depending on how old a dog you want. None are free. You have to fill out several pages of forms first, go through an interview, and then if they are willing, they will let you interact with the animal you are interested in. If that all goes well, then you get to take home the animal of your choice. Watch out though, they aren't always willing to part with an animal and will give you a hard time. Best to find an animal on Craigslist. Many are free or or a reasonable fee.
If you didn't pay last years license fee, then maybe that is why they are charging you for it. If you have already paid last years license fee where ever you lived before, show them proof of this.
Yes or u can bring it too the shelter and provide information on where the dog was found they will try to locate the owners or will evaluate it the dog or cat and will be put up for adoption.
Both
Like. $25
Call the IVHS. They will come out and talk to the owner. If it continues call again. They will start issuing a fine. That will fix the problem but if it doesn't you can file a nuisance complaint against your neighbor.
I'm not sure that id take him there? You might take him or her to a pet shop ans give it to them
Your address, if you have children and if so the age of them. If they will live inside or outside. And if you have other animal's.
Yes
Call the adult protective services! They will come, get her help and get help for the dogs. She obviously has issues so please call them asap!👍This is not only for the dogs, it's a health issue for all who live in the area. Also the cities code enforcement is another number to reach out too!
No u can't leave him there & pick him up they will find a new home 4 him permanently.
Yes
During business hours yes!! Try taking cat in a cage or box so it won't be too nervous!!!
You really need to call the police! They can check on the welfare of the dogs first. Usually they can call an emergency line for the line to get the Humane Society involved if need be!👍
They said that everyday dogs fo go and come in. U shoulf go and ask there or call
He doesn't speak Spanish
No ma'am just let them know you found it ok? 👍😉And thank you for caring enough to bring it in
Not sure call main number and ask for adoption,,,they will inform you
Im not sure, but you can also check Ontario Spayed and Nurtured fod prices. Thats where i took my dog.
They try there best to get them adopted if there not sick or too wild they'll keep them and get them fixed put a chip in em and put them up there or put them in a pet store.....
Call to see first. From what I know they charge $40 to drop off. Better of offering it through friends or offerup app.
I'm sorry I have nothing to do with that. The amount of poor animals being helped is enormous. Please be patient.
I never had to so i couldn't answer that question
Yes
You should call their number and ask that question
Parvo is a very dangerous expensive disease to treat. It's not just a shot! Please call the Humane Society Immediately. And remember, Parvo is transmitted to other animals. Get help now! Please call
This is a forum only. There is no connection to the Humane Society at this site. You must appear "in person".
Post it on YouTube if you are sure.
Yes. You fill out an easy application. But if you have other dogs they like you to bring them to see how they'll interact together!👍
If there use to people they'll be adopted
Pomona inland Valley humane society is not "no kill" . pick up animals quick. You can check on their website to see what animals are available/waiting to become available.
Probably, but first check out their website!
You can drop them off and they will take them no problem. You will have to pay a surrender fee. Please spay your dog, there are enough homeless dogs in the world with out you adding more.
Yes had to awhile ago, sorry for your pet
It is better if you call them and ask. They don't have time to call them when they find lost animals.
On Thursdays they have long lines that's probably when they offer discounts
Don't no that one,sorry unknown.....
I hope you realize that they run on almost no money and take in more animals than other shelters. If it weren't for them these animals would be on the street or dead. If you dont like it, make a donation for improvements or adopt a pet in need. Dont just complain on a web page.
Not sure how much of a discount. But their is a discounted price for seniors.
You should really call and ask rather then ask a question on here. You will get a faster response.
Yes they will help with that
Yes but I believe you must pay a drop-off fee. Not sure how much it is though, sorry
Yes they have a vet on site and they offer all the shots. Make an appointment.
Yes dog shots are available. I would recommend an appointment since I have seen rather long lines in the past especially on Thursdays
Yes and no. If the pet is not healthy (a dog has parvo) or needs expensive medical care, they will put it down. They have an onsite vets office so if the pet needs minor medical care they can do it onsite. However, older shelters use to put a time limit on health pets. Example, if this pet is not adopted in 14 days we put them down. This shelter does not do that to healthy pets. Actually few do any more. However, few shelters are also Zero NO KILL. It's all about the money and resources. For Example. I was there once and a cage of three puppies had parvo. I took one of the puppies. The shelter gave me the puppy for free and one weeks of medicine. However, it took me five more weeks getting the puppy better at home and cost me $800. If I had not stepped in they would have put the puppy down and used that money elsewhere.
The entire staff at Inland Valley Humane Society are friendly, helpful, and professional. They do great work.
Im not sure i suggest you call and tell them your challenge
It depends on what type of animals? Give them a call. There are several shelters in the area. But there is a chance they can get put down if not adopted. You want to try to find a good home for them first. Use the shelters as a last resort. Many never find their forever homes.
No. They are slow.... and when you for supervisor or director you get voice mail. No call back. No response to complaonts. This company is the worst
It depends on the dog behavior. When I adopt my little girl they said they are trying to be Zero.
If i where to take them would they put them down?
This is a kill shelter.
They don't look on here, its just local people who answer questions. You will have to call and/ or go in for specific information.
Keep checking their website
Isn't there an animal control I can call or something
What is your quedtion. You make it sound that I own that place. The reason they will not help you is. That organization is worthless and it's director won't take a complaint about its employees. Boycott this place.
So what is your question
I'm not sure sorry
You need to go there and look. I don't have any
You have to be at least 14 with a guardian by your side at all times but if you are 18+, you can volunteer by yourself :D
Yuuup best to call
I think Dawn answered it best
I believe they do take a limited number of farm animals. Call them, worth a try
You can check online anytime. Then call to find out more about the dog. Also try Westside German Shepherd Rescue. They have lots available
Why do you need to give up your cat? Maybe there are options??
Impound.... Lmao Ledbia... Dont take her to the humane and mission place. Go to the pomona pet hospital. It's better trust.
It is best on the size of the dog. Have the weight handy, call and ask an estimate.
Call to report.
Go to the shelter in the city you live.
You'll have to cal them.
If there under 3 pounds they will kill them at pomona humane society
I think it just depends on how long they are there before getting adopted, not age. Younger dogs are usually more likely to get adopted then older dogs, but it also depends on how healthy and friendly the dog is to determine how long they will be up for adoption. I have seen very young (small puppies) and old dogs there if thats what you are asking...
I have found two small dogs roaming around the streets I can’t keep them is this a good shelter to take them to and is it a non-killing shelter can anybody help me
You cannot pay the shelter to not euthanize a dog. They euthanize for space. You can adopt the dog.
Call them to make arrangements
If you surrender your dog the shelter will likely kill her.
I was gonna buy a pitbull and due to them having so many and the how people think about they're dangerous it was only a 5$ adoption fee. It's too encourage people to adopt them. Although if you do, you might have to do a backyard inspection even if you say it's going to be kept inside. Highly recommend you say it'll be kept inside.
Yes sometimes!! You should check the website for updates :)) but our shelter is closed on major holidays
Arleen the Humane Society has excellent Medical Services for cats and dogs at really low prices. They WANT to HELP you keep your cat or dog healthy & not have to give them up to the shelter because of the high vet bills so they keep their prices as low as possible. You can Google The Humane Society in your city. I took my dogs to the 1 in Long Beach & have nothing but good things to say about them. You just have to get there in line early. Good luck.
Yes and please spay her.
Yes you surely can! We helped bust some major animal cruelty cases in the past :))
Ask for someone who speaks spanish
You should go to the receiving desk and if you are giving the cats up for adoption, there will be a fee included. Most of the cats can find good homes ^^
Oh that would be the Clear The Shelters event we usually have annually during the summer ^^
