This place will not give her a chance either. In my experience with them they are not v compassionate. See if you can can locate a foster organization near you. There are other outings than the Humane Society, which has tragically grown so big they've lost their sympathy.
This facility is kind with its animals and really care for them. Now if you want an excellent, kind, well knowledge veterinary, ask for Dr. Cynthia Kinney. Her hands are Blessed by God, any animal she touch has a high percentage of surviving. If you the opportunity to adopt this dog, do so, not only you will save an animal of living a lonely life but it will have the most loyal friend next to you for the rest of your life.
ALSO there are foster family organizations that do help the pound will put it down I even gave money they still put some kitten I raised for 2 weeks down they lied to me pomona. Don't trust them.
If the animal is hurt and you do not want to asume the financial responsibility to take care of her...any shelter in the County of Los Angeles may put her down. Not enough money to take care of sick or wounded animals...so all are still "kill shelters" at this point. Many are still working on this issue. Join them???
Inland valley works with alot of rescue groups but im sure it depends on how bad she is. I think you can take her & see what they tell you before you leave her. Also get her scanned for a chip. You dont know that she was dumped (unless you saw). She could have ran away. Alot of dogs run onto the freeway.
There is a no kill West End animal shelter in Ontario. If that is not to far, you could try there. I do hope it works out for the little guy
