I took my 7 year old step-son for his first official fishing trip and it couldn’t have been better. We had an AM half day with captain Julio who was just super involved with all the people on the boat. He even rigged us up without us knowing he wasn’t a deck hand. But let me say the entire crew was hands on, aware, and went above and beyond to provide an amazing first experience. I’m very comfortable with these types of trips and have been for years, but this was even a great experience for me. Thank you guys, recommend for kids 10/10

Went on the Pacifica 1.5 day with my son. Been on this boat a few times in the last few years. Always a great experience and almost always catch. This trip we got 3 blue fin tuna. Great crew.

great one. if you have never done fishing, this is the spot. i went in morning and day both and they were amazing. amazing staff. beer on board. chips burritos etc. caught more fish in morning and went way far from shore. instead of getting dolphin or seal watching do this. will see everything and great red fish

So many fun trips with Seaforth. Most of the time the fishing is great. The New Seaforth has a great crew and cook. They usually fish off the La Jolla coast 5-10 miles north of Mission Bay. Best of all, being out on the open ocean is incredible, as are the sunsets.

Before putting your money on a trip the Landings make it easy to figure out if you may need a Passport or not. You can call them or check there schedule online. I recommend getting one no matter what, you never know what waters are biting best. It's fun to get out on the water but even funner when you're in the right place at the right time.
Yes they do, typically have live blood worms and live ghost shrimp.
You have to bring your mask just in case, because of the indoor thing, when you pay for your tickets, but other than that, it's optional. Some people wear masks, some people don't. As far as the vaxx, there is nothing posted about it anywhere.
Best time to start teaching them. Not everyone gets seasick. Go for it!
Yes
Check the Seaforth Landing fish report. It varies based on season and trip range.
I would call them or go over n speak to them personally so no wires get crossed
This is the first I hear about that...I've never caught anything over #50 lbs. And usually they ask you if you want your fish cleaned.i usually just have them gut it. But you can call them for better information. I don't want to give you the wrong information.
The tackle shop sells live ghost shrimp and live blood worms subject to availability. If you are looking for live fin bait like sardines or anchovies; you can sometimes find those down the street at Seaforth Boat Rentals
For inshore 1/2 day boat a 200-300 size reel is fine i. e., penn warfare combo is well suited. It's inexpensive reel rod combo and reliable. As far as line 30#-40# is sufficient for sure. Check with rep when checking in regarding hook size and type. Circle hooks work well. Hope this helps.
You could have a lot from 8 to 20
Seaforth provides the license when you pay for your charter.
I have been away from San Diego for many years. I used to go out on the Mission Belle and Mission Queen. Unless it is changed, there were fewer passengers in the winter and lots of room. Also, while living in New Jersey I owned a 32 foot sportfisher. The water off Cape May varies from rough to OMG. I am used to sitting in a chair i n extremely rough weather. I do not want to waste fishing time sitting in the galley. I did email the landing re rates and also the chair. They advised me of senior citizen rates but nothing on the use of a chair.
Great choice for deep-sea fishing San Diego.
Speaking only regarding the 3/4 day trips on the San Diego, you generally only need a passport if they are fishing the Coronado islands. If they are fishing offshore, then a Mexican fishing permit is all that's required. They always let you know ahead of time on the site. No age limit that I know of but I would not bring a kid that's not very familiar with fishing.
