Best time to start teaching them. Not everyone gets seasick. Go for it!
I started my 6yr old daughter out on a 1/2 day trip to get her feet wet and see if she enjoyed the experience. These boats cater to new fisherman and the crew are extremely helpful. You may want to try bonine or other motion sickness meds. Once you leave the docks, you're not coming back until the trip is over. My daughter loved the fishing but got sea sick 1/2 way through.
