I have been on several different fishing charters over the years and San Diego Fishing Company knows how to connect anglers with some great boats and captains! They always do an awesome job of making sure you are on the best boat and catch lots of fish.

I know the boat I’m reacting to, THE ORION, .isn’t on this page but it’s this same company with multiple websites. Not a real landing, just kind of a group that advertises together. They don’t post fish counts, if that tells you anything. Anyways this company’s name was on our receipt so I’ll respond here as well to warn others of the type of gamble you are making booking here... Full day 6 pack on the Orion. Here’s how it went: We show up at the dock, the boat owner mike O’Brien welcomes us aboard. He is quick to inform us that he does not have his captain’s license but this other dude working for him does. Weird. He says there’s breakfast in the pilot house. A bag of bagels like Sara Lee or whatever, some nutri grain bars greet us as we walk in. No cream cheese for the bagels, which is unusual. Then we hear it for the first time: the caterpillar Diesel engine is so poorly insulated it will vibrate the fillings out of your teeth. Excellent! We proceed to be driven around the ocean for the rest of the day by the guy mike who isn’t a captain and catch nothing. Held a fishing pole about 4 times for a combined 20ish minutes of the entire charter. The rest of the time was dedicated to fruitless trolling at the top speed of 9kts or so. Any faster, dude driving the boat said, and he’d have to hit us with a fuel surcharge! At about 2:30 pm or so we asked the guy at the helm if we can clear up the trolling lines and get back to the dock to start healing from our atomic headaches. That’s what happened. We absolutely had a wonderful time. The captain and the boat owner were amazing, and we were comfortable, making jokes and they plopped us down often in areas of good fishing. They were really good with my poor nephew and husband who got seasick and they treated us with the most kindness and respect. I would book with the Orion again. Thank you so much!!
