We chose Coletta Sportfishing to charter our 7 year old’s first fishing trip. Captain Gino and Matt were amazingly patient and encouraging, and our son caught over 12 fish. The experience exceeded his and our expectations and he had a blast. I highly recommend chartering the Swell Chaser if you get a chance. Wonderful family experience, 10 stars if we could!

Great trip for my brothers 40th birthday. Total of 5 guys and we all had a blast. We showed up early and they were ready. On the water right on time and fished nonstop

Captain Jon and Trevor were great. We had a fun and relaxing time out on the water with these guys. Jon was very determined to lead us to the fish! And we had an amazing mako shark sighting. The Wanu was comfortable and clean and all the gear was ready to go and easy to use. We will definitely go with Coletta again for our next charter.

My husband, in his early 30s, had never caught a fish before so for his birthday I set up a trip with Coletta fishing. We are local to San Diego and, although we've been on the water plenty of times, we've never been fishing! We had such a blast with Captain Jon and Hale. It felt more like hanging out with friends and fishing, which we really liked. They were both super helpful and patient with us newbies and even offered to take us back for some bay fishing after we both started feeling a bit seasick. Captain Chris was super communicative and very helpful during the scheduling and up to the trip. I look forward to setting up another trip with them in the future (this time with dramamine)! Thanks again!

Yes you can keep all legal species and legal size limits of the fish you catch based on CA Fish & Game guide lines! For further information please go to the CA Fish & Game web site!

I am from Arizona, never been deep sea fishing ever I am super interested. This is most likely a rookie question but is all fishing gear something I need to invest in before trying to go on a charter or how does that work?

My husband and son just enjoyed a half day fishing charter with Colletta. We were visiting from Idaho, and every single thing they needed was included. Their fishing Captain, Hale, was amazing, and though it wasn't a super day in terms of catches, the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. My only comment would be....wear warm clothes! It was a mild day in San Diego, but out on the water it was quite a bit chillier. Hale and his crew member were very professional and really hunted the fish. Could not say enough good things about Colletta and Captain Hale!

Matters how many people an how far (species) you want to go for. Better to call them direct. Bluefin are biting in the 40-100lb range rite now

How far do you go out on a calf day trip What does it cost for 6 people

About a $1000 half day trip distance 20 miles off the coast you will fish the kelp and or the La Jolla ledge for Rock cod. We limited the boat with rock cod last trip.
