I have been away from San Diego for many years. I used to go out on the Mission Belle and Mission Queen. Unless it is changed, there were fewer passengers in the winter and lots of room. Also, while living in New Jersey I owned a 32 foot sportfisher. The water off Cape May varies from rough to OMG. I am used to sitting in a chair i n extremely rough weather. I do not want to waste fishing time sitting in the galley. I did email the landing re rates and also the chair. They advised me of senior citizen rates but nothing on the use of a chair.
Most boats have a Galley which provide seating, food and quite a few boats have bunks to rest. I've seen hundreds of costumers bring there collapsible canvas chairs. I wouldn't recommend sitting in one if it gets Bumpy.
Call the landing and discuss it with them. Remember that the larger sport boats will have a lot of people on them at peak times. You might be better off going with one of the smaller boat operators who can more readily focus on helping you.
Tell me what boat you would like to fish on and I can give you some better information. I know all of the guys down there. If I were you I would take the 3/4 day both the San Diego because it has a big Deck with plenty of room to move around and it's a very large boat.
