Have trapped 2 kittens and mama cat and taken them to animal shelter, have 1 more kitten and 2 adult cats to catch. They are going under my trailer to have babies and I'm closing down the nursery, so they don't do anymore damage. Once they are gone I will seal off access. It's better than closing it off and they are trapped with no way out.

Please adopt this stray sweetheart I just turned in today! 💕 he’s clearly an outdoor dog ⏳only 1-2 years old the vet said 🏠 stayed with us and was very skinny, food motivated, and wanted lots of affection and scratches

The dogs on one end spend most of the time I a dark area . They should be in a location easier for guest to see them to adopt them. They have nothing to look at but a wall. The dogs didn't deserve to have to be in the shelter in the first place. They at least should have a little better area that they are kept. No blanket, nothing to give them any comfort. Advocate in the community for those pets. Get financial donation and supplies to help the animals have a better life. Potentially months in a concrete cage is bad enough.

All pets are neutered/spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. I adopted a dog and a cat on "Free Adoption Day" and they are the best of friends. The staff were very friendly and the all animals appeared to be well cared for. I suggest going in person if you're looking for a furry friend rather than look on their website.

How long do u keep cats, before u euthanize them
I have a 2 yr old boy German shepherd to a good home potty trained kennel trained good family dog work to much to keep him
For feral cats, the SPCA has a feral cat program. They will either spay/neuter them and drop them back off, or if you want them gone, they will relocate them.
Clairbel Gonzalez if you trying to place your dog in good home atleast post your E-MAIL address you didnt post any information on how to get in touch with you!
You need to go there physically in person daily the website is not always right
Your rights as a homeowner is you get to pick it up or leave it. Its your choice
Hi. lol You would need to call then at the shelter to see what they can do. You should be able to get another hour sleep, without him crowing with the time change.😆
Yes! http://www.polksheriff.org/animal-services/lost-pets-search You just have to select dog/cats/other
Yes, they allow adoption! They will try their best to re-home all of them. They give medical exam and shots, all healthy enough to be re-home will be. Sick ones get moved out to a center in winter Haven for rehabilitation if possible.
No
I wish i knew sweety, what i do know if you call they will answer Ive been thier many of times what i can tell you is they knows canines better than most..
Amy, Take him to the Polk County Animal control and surrender. Or KEEP calling. They are really busy down there, but they will come out as soon as they can. Check before you go to see if there is a surrender fee. I am not sure. If so then I would wait for them to pick the dog up. Hopefully some one her knows. But I would just call and ask them. Rules change and I would hate to tell you the wrong thing. It took them around 3 days to pick up 2 dogs that were just dumped at my mom's home. She lives way out in the country and people dump their pets there all the time. So sad.
yes. . no tag
I called today. They reopened the case and will be calling. But I gave them all my info , they stated they had a # , that I personally never gave them...They'll be calling soon.
You cant on this site, you can get a dog license at any vet or at animal control but you have to go in to get it. Btw chips for dogs and cats are $15 each at SPCA. Please chip your animals people in case they lose there collar they can id the pet's owner via the chip and look up all vaccinations that will save you time and money. Trust me it works
Must be in Polk County and the fee for County tag is $10 for altered and $25 for unaltered. They have 3 year rabbie shot the tag is $15 for altered and $75 for unaltered
Call Animal control or go down and make a complaint...
You would have to ask them..
No most likely not. It's a professional service not a home service. No disrespect meant. It's polk county.
I'm looking for a small and older dog
Omg! Not in a "gated community"! How dare that happen in a gated community!
Don't know the answer. But I recently got a dog from there and they never divulged he had kennel cough. I found out the hard way. I took care of my dog but I was told its contagious so I will stay away from that place.
What is your question?
TLC Petsnip is real reasonable. And The SPCA
I’ve got 10 kittens I come acrossed and unfortunately I found them with there mother passed away and 2 kittens passed as well I’m not able to take care of them and I don’t want anything to happen to them can someone please help
TLC Petsnip. They have shot clinics once a month where they wave the exam fee and their vaccinations are less expensive then private vets offices and the SPCA. They have 3 locations i believe.
Trap in your yard only and haul them to Animal control, They pefur you leave them in the trap it's easy for them to remove them
They pick up cats that are in traps
Send Grady Judd a message.
Yes they do, blankets !! food bedding most anything
Set a live trap in your yard and one by one YOU haul them to the pound
Call Animal Control
Yes, they euthanize. Cost $. I believe its $75, but dont remember
Yes they will. As long as u do not say anything about feeding it or anything of a helping nature pretty much!
Yes, only the ones that are being adopted, if you are looking for someone to do your pet you already have,, no , A low cost place is TLC pet snips on Gary Rd , if you're 55 you can get a senior discount
Not that I know of. Check with your veterinarian
I asked them that when I dropped off 2 dogs I found on the side of the road. They said that if the animals seem to not be a danger to anyone, and show signs of improvement physically and emotionally over a few days they normally try to adopt them out. But yes this facility does euthanize. I encourage anyone looking to adopt to try here first.
www.polksheriff.org When you get on the animal control site, go to bottom of the page to the green box and click animal services. Then near the bottom you choose dog or cat, female or male, age and size and hit search now. Or you can choose just cat or dog and hit search now to view all dogs or cats. Hope this helps.
Pretty sure we paid between $20-25 to have ours put down.
Moth balls help deter the if you can stand the smell.
At the dog is wounded by car or needs medical treatment for days if not it could be a whole month but the price goes up every day from day one to rescue your own dog
No it is not in fact I didn't see any German shepherds at this time
Call them. Sometimes they have adoption specials.
Yes
You don't. At least not from Animal Control. They don't adopt them out.
Yes there is free parking and if your 55 you can adopt a dog with shots and spay and neuter for only $30 if you are picking up your own dog the price goes up every day that's called a fine
Caroline, try also taking a picture then mark it with say a blue astrik to share on here. It could help placing a face with your difficult situation.
Or call them before 5 monday-friday.
Lisa, you should go to Polk County Animal Shelter Monday and look to see if you dog is there. There is a number of sites you can list your missing dog on. Posters do really well. And if you have Nextdoor in your neighborhood, your neighbors could be on the lookout. You can check on line to see if your neighbors particpate in the program in your area. Maybe someone took your dog in. If you list it on a site, post a picture, where she was last seen and if it is a male or female. Hope you find it :)
Jason, You would need to go and see if they have her. They have so many that come and go. You have posted this on a forum where we review companies and services and answer questions if we can. The shelter will probably not see your post. It is better you go in person so you can look at all the dogs to see if Abby is there. If she is not, I would put up posters in the neighborhood. There are sites you can list her as missing. Another good place to list her is on Nextdoor Digest. Most neighborhoods have one. I hope you find Abby. I hope she has already come home by now. :)
Call the Winter Haven Humana society. They charge a fee but it's a no kill shelter
The owner lets it roam all the time not even a year old and they breed her sold puppies at a month or so old and in heat again roaming. It's sad. But animal control said on the phone that I have right to protect myself and kid but I shouldn't have to and don't want to
I've had the same issue and found out that they will only come out to pick them up if you capture it first.. there are wayy too many stray cats on my street and last night i set out my first trap, woke up to a cat in there this morning and called animal control, they said they will pick up today.. just my experience but hope it helps!
So sorry, Carol is right. My daughter in law is a vet tech and said the same thing. That is so sad for you and the poor dog I know they do take surrenders. I know how hard it will be for you. And the poor little dog wouldn't have a clue why they are being brought back. So sad right here at Christmas. People in the past who have left their pets destroy landlord's properties have made it very hard for people to rent who own pets. Sometimes a landlord will let you have the pet if you pay a deposit. You may want to check with your landlord on that. Or check and see if there is a landlord who would allow you to rent and have your pet. I feel so sorry for you. It's like having to give up your child. Good luck to the both of you.
Go to their website under animal services or type in the link below. . I noticed it does not allow you to cut and paste the link. sorry. The pictures of all animals ready for adoption are on there along with the description. http://www.polksheriff.org/animal-services/lost-pets-search There are many animal there that would love be in a home for the holidays. The fees are very inexpensive and include chipping, spay or neuter and shots. Thank you for the question.
**Jeepsy Girl, you are correct. My daughter in law is a vet tech and said that law is not enforced! New Florida Law, Pet Owners Must Unchain Animals. ... The controversial law, which passed in March, prohibitstethering animals at any hour — a step up from the previous daytime ban. Dogsstill can be tied up under direct supervision and at some events such as shows.Jul 8, 2011 I would call the animal services on them. I think they will check it out or can advise you. I think the dogs barking all the time would fall under disturbance of the peace. They will open Monday and I sure they can help you. This is animal cruelty!
There is a Sr. citizen dicount. I think it is $35. for dogs. And they are chipped, spay or nuetered and have all their shots. That is a good deal. Much much more reasonable than the spca or humane society. I don't know how much for cats. There are so many animals down there. It is so sad. When they stop puppy mills we won"t have very many animals in pounds.
You might have to call to find out. Probably they are closed
There was a ferret and rabbit there when we went.
Beverly, do you happen to be in the Winter lake/ Spirit lake Rd area??
no you have to take to them.
Why would they call animal control for that? Animal control *isn't* going to put time or funds into a squirrel. If someone wanted to actually save it they would need to contact a wildlife rescue. Genesis is good.
Try to call them..might be a faster way in finding out .I did when my beagle ran away
If your dogs were chiped and you registered the numbers they will call you, if not go to animal control and SPCA to find them
Animal control or 911
Scott walton..if you broke a leg would we do the same for you?
Best thing is to visit the animal control office.
Take it to a vet, its probably a respiratory infection or an allergy and a vet can tell you and will give you meds for the kitten.
Never
More than likely he will be put down....take him to humane society (they are a no kill shelter off Dundee rd)
No fee. Just take the dog to the address listed above at Polk County Animal Control and they have you sign a surrender form. And that'll be all.
You could always see if their is a feral cat program in the area. Especially if deemed a colony and they could be keeping the rodent population down in the area. Not sure your area but they trap, fix, and then release back in general area trapped in. It stops the breeding at least
I never had to...check online or give them a call
relocate it
yes
I'm not sure. Best thing to do is call them.
I would take the feline to the spca on dundee rd, they are a no kill shelter. If you take the feline to the animal control they put them down after 4 days
call animal control.
Some animal control!
Habitual barking yes please read the full Ordinance 05-47 and see if it applies
They will let you. There may be a fee but you can surrender an animal.
Polk county sheriff's animal control
Adoption cost for an 80 year old person would be $35. I hope this information helps you. 💜Love Each Day🌈
Call them. They can let you know if they have any adoptable pups.
I do not know why they are not answering as my encounter with them they did respond rather quickly and they did answer all my questions I would check the number and make sure you are dialing it correctly keep trying to place was very friendly and it was clean the animals were well taken care of wasn't happy about the fine I had to pay for my stupid dog taking off again but none the less I think they are very good at what they do. And it is worth pursuing to get your answers
If they are not there then look at the SPCA, they sometimes transfer dogs and cats to the spca based on availability
You can pay fines at clerk of court in lakeland..But court hearings are held in bartow in front of a hearing officer..
No chip..daughter and family moved here two weeks or so ago...weve been walking nieborhood calling for her..asking people....so sad for my grandaughter...Winter haven... Avenue L se...ty everyone so much.
Normally 65.00
They are in some places, like condos communities, parks. It's also the civilized thing to do.
Call them back
Take them to the spca in winter haven
Call Polk County Animal Control. They will send an officer out.
You can and they ask for a donation but its a kill shelter. They do kill them and if they are any part pit bull and you surrender it its as good as dead. Sorry to be so harsh but there are no kill places around. You should make this your last resort...
You have to go look. Also, you can put holds on dogs in the stray/found section and if no owner picks up and it's deemed adoptable, they will call starting with the first name on the list - it's first come first serve.
I am wondering if there is an available voluntary position with the county pound or at the aspca.
