I live in Orange County but Kim was so kind to give me info on the right process to submit this #stray dog today. I had to turn him in at Polk Animal Control. 💕sweetheart cuddled up to my preggo-belly 💕wants lots of affection & only about 2 years old they told me 💕 perfect for a home with land or yard I hope they get him once he’s processed with the county! He’d be very trainable! ♻️ please share!

We simply love this animal domicile! They receive excellent care and you aren't bogged down with paperwork before you get to see the kitties and dogs. The staff is SUPER friendly and knowledgeable.

I used to work at The Humane Society of Polk County taking care of dogs and cats, mostly cats! The Humane Society takes their dogs for long walks several times a day and they make sure each dog has their exercise and play time. They make sure they are very healthy and as soon as they realize something is wrong with a little animal, they contact a vet to take a look at them. They have 4 big rooms for cats and they put them together by age. Kittens, adolescents, adults and the elderly. They clean and disinfect their areas all the time. They make sure all animals have food and toys available at all times! They give them treats, they play with them, they read to them, they have radios with soft music so that they don't feel alone. There is a trainer who works with the behavior of the animals. The Humane Society makes sure that every animal goes to a GOOD HOME. If the dog or cat is very scared or crying, the employees and volunteers sit with them, hug them, talk with them for hours until they stop crying. That which IS HUMAN SOCIETY.

Every time I come here, I really enjoy my visit. The staff is all nice and friendly, and the cats are always very cute. I've visited here several times, with my girlfriend, her parents, my roommate, and a few other people, and I always enjoy it. They have the cats split up by age group, and I always like the older cats, as they tend to love every bit of affection they can get.

Sorry you never got a response
If you check their website they show pics of the animals with their family when they get adopted.
You have to call them and make an appointment it's a $25 fee for each drop off. (At least it is for the stray I have) the fee is for the leukemia test in cats not sure for dogs. I ended up waiting 2 weeks people are absolutely amazing and love the animals.
SPCA gives discounts if you are on Government Assistance of any kind.
Thank you, That’s why I’m a little relax about turning her in cause I know she will be in good hands
Sorry, I do not speak Spanish.
They told me different. As I'm trying to take a cat here but it's $25.
The only non kill is the one on Dundee rd
The humane society is a no kill shelter, you should call ahead to be sure they have room for kitty before you go
Just call you need an appointment for a few reasons 1. Covid 2. They need to have space 3. Cats and dogs are on a different to surrender
If the dog does not get adopted it will be put down.so sad
Yeah at the humane society in Puerto rico
I dont think they board dogs but if they do you should get an influenza and kennel cough vaccine before you board them
Yes I would love to to have it
Yes good place they don't put any animals to sleep please go there
100 dollars they come up to date on shots rabies and microchipped.
I want to adopt a puppy and a cat (young). Any availability?
I think so.
I'm sure they have what you want, exactly what I got from them, and there were several choices. Go in, it's a wonderful place clean well run and the previous persons advice was great as you can fill out a card and make a request
I don't know. What the question was
I don't know I only went there to see the pet's sorry I couldn't help
Your best bet is to visit the location during their business hours. The staff is friendly and helpful
If you're interested in just getting your cat neutered at the Humane Society of Polk County it costs 50 dollars according to their website.
You can always surrender to SPCA of Florida
$220 at garden grove animal hospital but it is worth it to me includes lab work, anesthesia, and surgery it is worth peace of mind knowing his vet is doing it
Noone has first choice it's just first come first serve.
The humane society has vouchers on the website that you would purchase then choose from their list of veterinarians as for the price it would be (female cat) $50
20 dollars or 30 usually if not 863 polk pets free got lots animals need homes
For what surrendering or adopting? Just surrender account it's 25 IDK about anything else
I have seen birds there occasionally. Good luck 👍
No
Indeed
Dogs and Kittens $100 Adult Cats $50 (5 years & older) Seniors for Seniors $30 (Cats) $65 (Dogs) Seniors (60+) adopting an adult dog or cat 5 years or older
I sorry don't know. If there any dog's like that there Go there & see if any dog's you like
Yes you can take her there & they can put her down . i don't know how much it costs to do that
I don't know-i think they only take in the animal if it is yours and it depends on if they are full or not- there also is a fee.
It wasn't hardly any puppies dogs or cats the day I was there
Yes! Contact the shelter and bring your own books
just to move them from one place to another, but not to keep them there, because chickens are animals of large spaces.
Look onmine in their web page. They have a donations area were you can donate
No try TLC petsnip
Cats are beautiful creatures and tend to be affectionate, but in my house it could not be, because my home is small, for this reason we only adopt a dog. I'm so sorry.
I believe so on the door.
What kind of puppies are they
They only take them on certain days and if they have room.
Call the humane society, they will help.
Take them to the SPCA they will take them
That would be a good place to start. Good luck
My understanding is that they get surrenders and cats / dogs from AC that have a high probability of being adopted.
I think they do. There's an open meet / greet area, but that might be just dogs.
Go to the shelter and talk with the front desk staff
When you adopt a dog from that place you must pay the fee but you have the option to return it in a time not greater than 30 days, but you must pay $ 25.00. so think well.
IDK...... try PetSnip in Lakeland
Better to take it back so it can find a forever home...dont know if there is a fee.
Volunteer workers are being hired if you want call and find out training hours
Yes, they will be happy to take your baby in and find it a new forever home, when you adopt with the humane society that is part of the adoption.
They have a veterinary clinic and may be able to help your poor chick.
Contact Polk County...ask animal control.
It's around 20 dollars maybe more but not much
Sometimes it depends on cities and areas you live in. Some animal controls will let rent/borrow a trap. They will fix and dock their ear for identification once caught. Then allow you to release them back into their colony. Helps with mice and rats. But, you should actually try calling one of their offices if you do not find what you seek on the web site.
There is a $25 intake fee per animal they take in ...... if the space is available.
You have to call them or take the animal in to see if they are full or not. There is a $25 intake fee per anima to help cover some care costl, but it's well worth it as the center will train the dog and find it a good home, no kill zone unless the animal is ill or truly vicious.
I'm not sure about that but if you ask Google who vaccine , for free or cheap ,, there will tell you were ,, or I have a friend on Facebook her name is Christina Mullens ,, she might be able to tell you were to go ,, she is in charge of paw rescue
The only time they dont answer the phone is when they are closed. If you have tried calling today they are closed for employee training
Yes. Make sure they have room.
Yes. They are a shelter, but you need to call them and go through their process to surrender your pet
There is a vet hospital next to the humane society. Not sure how their payments are expected, best to just call around and ask different vet offices as I'm sure they all could be different
All you have to do is take it in to the shelter.
Yes
Idk. Try calling.
I don't believe they acrually di them there. You need to take to a vet, but they have vouchers that make it cheaper at selected vets
I think they close at 2 pm.
The humane society is for animals looking for homes and a place people can go to get them. Animal control is for animals hurt or in abusive situations and need to be removed from them. Sorry if they are not answering to help 😶 hope that helps.
I don't know. And if they don't have room they won't t take them. You should call and find out.
I've called 911 in the past and they will notify animal control. I know it's hard to see but thank God you saw him and stopped. Most people wouldn't.
You need to call or go there , this is not the website
There are a lot of places for animals boarding just google it , also they are not going to do microchip unless your dog takes all the required shots through them
You can most likely....I would give them a call just to be sure
Yes it is no kill and a very clean facility. Staff is very friendly and they are great with the pets they have . All are kept clean and well fed.
He didn't ask for them to take it off his hands. He asked for help on a cure. We have found that using Neosporin helps open wounds on animals. U less it's really bad and deep then I would take to the vet for sure
I have the same problem. You can get a cage from Animal Control and hope you know eventually they'll go in there and then you call Animal Control to come pick it up I've tried that and but those go to a kill shelter if you want them to go to a non kill shelter you need to catch him yourself and I highly recommend when you go to catch them that you do it with a towel or a blanket and wrap them up that helps him feel a little more safe and keeps you from getting scratched best of luck
Go to vet. Present their report to police department.
No
I would call the police
U can go and check by yourself
Some Humane Society offices in other counties do shots. Highland County is one of them.
U can go there or send an email
We just had a female dog, four years old, get a hysterectomy and it cost less than $150.00
Go to polk co. Dog pound total cost 30.00
As of right now the HSPC is not taking in cats because they are at full feline capacity
I am not 100% sure but I believe it's 125-plus shots and whatever if you had an animal you know what the shots cost
My vet only charged $120 for mine
For what i can remember they dont offer normal vet care. Im sure they can assist you with vets that are affiliated with there network. I know they have a discounted service for familys on gov't benefits or public assistance but its for spade/ neuter services. Things could have changed. I worked there about 1 year ago.
Yes this kitten is mine and there are no other animals. Whats the best time and day to bring him in too see a vet?
A charge for what exactly?
Walk-ins are ok. They are open 11:30am-6pm Tues-Fri, 10am on Sat. Closed Sun and Mon.
If you adopted him at the Society then yes.
No
Depends on the reason. If its for a procedure is by appt only and if its to surrender a cat it has to meet a specific criteria. You should call before going.
Yes you have to pay $10 for tshirt plus $25 membership to volunteer there.
About $50
Try to put some milk for them they need protein now to recover
