Does anyone know if this store at Fordham require a valid Best Buy receipt to trade in a game? because some Best Buy stores do due to local requirement.

Yes they do, but they require valid receipt of purchase.

it is possible if you have a receipt they just have to scan the barcode and that will tell them if it was purchased from best buy.

Im not sure but call them during store hours and ask them to transfer you to the gaming/sales department
