How close could a diesel truck get to the area? I'm a rockhounding truck driver, and I'm always looking for new places.

There is a road called Black Hills Byway that is maybe a mile before the turnoff to the actual rock hound area. There is a small campground there. That road is in very good shape and you are in an area that as far as I'm concerned your more likely to find something. I would recommend going to round mountain rock hound area instead. You can call the rock shop in Daniels AZ and talk to the owner. He is very knowledgeable about the area and he will tell you your wasting your time at Black Hills.
