One of the many nice hikes in the Hocking Hills area. There are two starting points post Covid with the one way trails. We did the shorter of the two. There are two parking areas. At the first one climb the stairs to the picnic shelter. At the nearby primitive restrooms goto the right to start the loop. You will return on the left of the restroom. The Rock House itself is a short off trail exploration in the ‘cave’ itself.

This is the place I remember the most from when I was a kid. It's really cool inside the cave, and worth the hike. The trails are a short hike, but can be a difficult climb for some. There was a foot bridge out due to a fallen tree, and we had to detour through a little ravine and creek bed. The trails here are one-way, so check the maps at the trail heads before you start. There are picnic shelters and restrooms near the main parking lot, but the restrooms were in bad shape.

Another great one from the Hocking Hills! Change in elevation was really not bad at all. As muddy as other trails in the park - which is to say fairly. Less crowded than other caves so we saw owls, snakes, salamanders, and butterflies. We were almost the only ones on the trail a lot of the time. Again the cave was great but the park offers so much more - wildlife, mushrooms, waterfalls, streams, lichen, and all kinds of plants to identify and wonder over. Would definitely come back. PS hiked with 11 yo and 8 yo kids they were fine, wore keen sandals. Zero mosquitoes sited. Would not have brought a stroller or ergo on this hike - I’ve over balanced and slid on hills with a baby enough to last a lifetime and really don’t need to do where cliffs and jagged rock edges are involved.

Awesome sights and a really cool cave. I must warn you, for those who don't do much trail walking, the trip back up can be a tough one. Bring your best walking shoes and a camera. I would highly recommend the visit

Cost nothing. Thankfully none of the attractions in Hocking Hills cost to enter. Just park and start hiking.
Yes I just took 2 of mine there. Wouldn't reccomend if they are really old though
Open as of June 15
Rockhouse was not a hard walk with both kids and dogs. However, it does get slippery after it rains so make sure to hold on to the little ones.
It's a must see, very beautiful
