We hiked this on Wed, 7-27-22. Trail was in great condition. Very easy to follow. We hiked up for sunset and hiked back in the dark. No route finding issues except that just before the summit you will veer off on a path just to the left that will take you to the famous overlook. We did miss that and had to double back a bit. View from the summit is really awesome. We saw NO ONE while at the summit and only one other couple hiking. What a great hike.

Nice hike it took us 4 hrs total I including a rest time at the top of ablut 25 min. We stopped twice on the way up for about 5 min. The view is definitely worth it. Take your hammock if you can too, there are trees at the tip where you can set it up.

Beautiful overlook. Moderate hike but has beautiful views the entire way. Make sure you pack plenty of water

One of my favorite hikes. It has an amazing view. It's a gentle/moderate incline so it's easy on the knees going back. One option is to take the regular scenic route on the way up and take the fire road back if you have bad knees. I've only ever gone on a weekday and even then the parking can be nearly full. There's a new parking lot at Catawba Greenway further down a mile or so that I hope to try in the future.
