Rural carrier are not required to wear uniforms and yes usps workers are using their own vehicles.
I’ve had many mail carriers over the years (different cities/states) drive their own vehicle and dress in street clothes, especially when I wasn’t in city limits. Never seen one peek into my automobile before though.
