Yes, you can still go in after close.
It's not officially open after hours but you can go in anyway. You will likely get approached by NYS Park Police - if your visit is innocent, then they won't bother you. You should be fine to drive and park to see the northern lights.
I dont think so. They close the gates at the entrance.
