I can get no information on my tax return. Not even if it was received. Don't answer phones, say they are closed when supposed to be open. How do I speak with an actual person?

I agree with Michael! Go to IRS.gov to see the status of your return and refund. Also, if you called today they are closed because it’s Juneteenth a federal holiday. So try calling really early tomorrow or late tomorrow about a hour before they close

Joan, the IRS is still drastically behind in returns that even Congress is in their rear. The online portal is your best bet for changes. They are reassigning and hiring more to help clear. But still months and millions of returns behind. I would suggest if you sent the return more than 8 months ago to send a new copy with a signed request to waive statute of limitations, if less than 8 months, wait til October 1st. Just me as a person
